Before you start criticizing the greatest generation of Americans that ever live, you better take a step back and think about the consequences if these “old people“ didn’t do what they did. I lost Uncle’s in WW1 and WWII and a brother in Vietnam. People didn’t make decisions likely, I can assure you of that. It was a much different time with or less information. There were multiple factions country, trying to split us apart.

I’m not here to defend or criticize what Kate has decided.

I do find an interesting that she waited until now to leave. Surely, she had discussions with her father and others when this was going down fully knowing that the Russian could’ve been here by December. The decision to recruit the Russian was known so I’m struggling. What if she didn’t get cleared until December? Was she gonna quit on her team? It sounds like an inner conference team wants her

I was always told there is no I in team. The team always comes first. If she felt that she could really help this team go then she could’ve put any feelings aside while on the court. Some of my worst enemies became some of my best friends.

Maybe she did try to get to know the player and find out where she stands on the war, but it just didn’t work out enough to allow her to remain as her teammate.

That can be enough time if she is vocal supporter of Russia’s war effort. It actually makes it seem more likely.

But I was also answering a post questioning why she knew about the signing since April and only decided to leave the team in August.

There could have also been other types of communications since the spring, but even if that happened I can see either waiting to see what she says away from Russia and Putin or finding out quickly with face to face interactions that it wasn’t going to work out like it seemed it would during those other communications.
