Terrible decision. He could have boosted his draft stock significantly.

It's hard to know what is the right or wrong decision b/c we aren't walking in his shoes. It's not like we are playing for anything this season. With the way things are going now, this season is a waste anyway. He's probably trying to making the best decision for himself. Maybe he felt like he can still boost his draft without putting all the wear and tear on his body. He will perform well in the combine drills and if he can stay mentally sharp in addition to performing in drills for scouts, then he's not hurting himself at all IMO. Scouts already know what his potential is.

You have got to wonder who is in these kids ears.... Very bad business decisions on for him. Small sample size of school. And hunger to watch would have gi en him a huge stage and the chance to move up from the 3 round for big money. Not a well thought out position for KV.

But good luck, and thanks for your help last year. Next star who wants to move up, step forward...

So with that knowledge and accuracy of draft grade why wait until now to forego? The timing is questionable and the amount of money left on the table warrants speculation.

Not to mention LSU is left flat footed with this. As a fan this is upsetting and deserving of criticism. That’s 3 key defenders now gone to transfer, opt-out, and forego in place of the draft.

His athleticism and how he looks in drills was never an issue with him. His coverage ability is what he needed to show scouts. He's not going to be able to do that against air at the combine. Even if the season is weird, he needs game film. Most of the film on him now is getting lost in coverage, albeit he showed improvement at the tail-end of last season. Yes, it's his decision to make, but this decision could have cost him millions.

Because he could have improved his stock

But 4.3 DBs that have shown ball skills are safe AF in 2020 football

He will run well and he logged enough hours at DBU to get him drafted. But I don't know what he is at the next level.

Small for Safety. Can't cover well enough to play outside IMO. Has never really flashed on special teams.

Not sure how highly a team would covet a nickle slot player in the draft. Mid to late round you'd have to think. His character should grade out well but will teams view this move by him as a negative?

Good luck to Kary.

I don’t have all the information he has available to him. I can only assume he made best decision for himself.

By not playing? Sorry but he really doesn’t have that great of tape and frankly has durability issues. He’s a good player, but an extra season would have drastically improved his draft stock. There is no point arguing further.

I think he should have played this year, I think the safety versatiiity would have boosted his stock .

But I want football this fall and I think all players should have this right. Just sucks that’s a few important ones face exercised it in our case.

What a bitch. Thanks Kary.

Play the season out until we lose a game and their is no more shot at a natty. Then you can sit out and prepare for the draft.

No chest.
