we would have scored more than 3 in the second half if we were running up the score

dude

1. bad offensive playcalling on the goaline 1 series

2. the refs doing their best to make sure the game didn't get out of hand

3. bad playcalling going for too many long bombs

that's the only reason why we didn't score more than 3

*ETA: and richard murphy just not being that good

Georgia Tech shouldn't complain, considering they put up 222 one afternoon on a team with 14 players.

I think at that point, it was clear Les was trying to make a statement that you don't shite talk us. Pretty sure that was just trying to be cocky with all the long balls

i don't believe in "Running up the score" We have an offense they have a defence, we try to score, they try to stop us. If they can't stop it, then we score..that simple.

Jefferson needed as much game time experience (not just handing it off) as possible, we play our off. Too many times (Arkansas, Miss St) we let the foot off the gas and the players started going through the motions.

I didn't see GT kneeling the ball every play to run out the clock, why the FU$% should we?

Bottom line - It's the Off's job to score points, it's the def's job to stop them...if they did their fu%$ing job, we don't have an issue.

i really really think that when the refs robbed us of the 85 yard TD pass that miles got pissed at them and got tunnel vision

I agree with this. If we could have dropped 100 on them I would have loved it.

Okay, so the alternative is that we put second-stringers in, run every down, get blitzed every down and nothing happens in the game?

Yeah. That would be so much better.

Look, I wasn't a big fan of the fake punt call... but I couldn't care less about Ga. Tech's feelings in the game.

A coach should be concerned with his own team only. Period. When coaches start worrying about the other teams' feelings and concerns, they betray their own team's interests.

Good sportsmanship isn't based on having pity for the other team. It's based on your level of competitiveness and respect for the game.

Sometimes you can cross the line a bit, and to me, I thought the fake punt was crossing the line just a hair... BUT... I see no reason for LSU to alter its offense for the sake of Georgia Tech's emotional security.

Not with a freshman quarterback at the controls. Not when we're trying to bury the demons of a bad season... and NOT when the damned offense is actually WORKING.

Isn't it more beneficial in terms of gaining experience for JJ to try to throw long passes in a live game environment with the game well in hand than to just hand it off? I think Miles just wanted to see if he could complete them.

it's actually more beneficial for JJ to run our real offense, which rarely uses deep bombs

miles wanted to run up the score though, so we threw bomb after bomb

Miles sure did. But Black was very obviously holding on that play.

it wasn't that bad (he wasn't even using hands) and the ball was already out of the QBs hands

GT was hooking our DL all night and i don't think they got 1 holding call

Let me explain the fake punt...GT shifted their entire line 2x before to the right side, Coaches doing their job, realized that that left the entire left side unblocked and untouched, thus opening up the middle of the field for the cross pass, or what I thought they were going to do after the first time i saw it, a snap to the up back. The coaches were doing what they were supposed to do, expose the play..GT should be happy and never run that formation again.

I'll give you a baseball analogy to the same situation. If a pitcher was tipping his pitches and coaches on the bench figured it out but we were winning by 10 runs, the coaches tell the batter, he hits one into the next parish, the coaches should or shouldn't tell the players the signs from the pitcher?

wait what?

and this board was in dire need of some reality injections

there are a ton of LSU fans on here acting like what miles did was so far removed from running the score that it was actually a noble move that somehow would help GT in the long run. these are the same fans who'd beat their kids if GT did what LSU did

It was unfortunate because he wasn't being beaten on the play.
