I had my back turned to the tv flipping some filets on the grill. Turned around to watch the replay thinking I was going to see a wounded duck flopping down field. Tight spiral. On a rope. Right in the receivers chest which allowed him to catch and turn up field for some yards. one of the ugliest throws I’ve seen ALL YEAR!!!

The two that drove me insane were Gilbert's catch to convert 4th down and Boutte's on the 3 yard line before half. Just clear as day to the announcers both balls hit the turf OBVIOUSLY! Neither ball got within a foot of the ground

The fumble recovery is open to interpretation, certainly.

No it was not at all. On the replay you can clearly see Emery fumble and then secure the ball while he was down. Then the Arkansas player ripped it out. Most fumble scrums you don’t see clear possession until you see who comes out the pile so it will change hands multiple times before a call is made. That is not the case in this scenario.

I was watching the replay looking for this wobble and it was not there. I was like, damn, so much disregard for truth in broadcasting.

Emery had his hand on the ball, but never possessed it.

Emery was lying on top of the ball on the ground with his arm around it. He was down and the camera showed it clearly. Stinchcomb was very wrong and he wouldn’t stop talking about it.

Even if you believe Ricks was guilty of targeting, Stinchcomb went on and on about “crown of the helmet”. Ricks was hit in the earhole after he turned his shoulder for the initial hit. Stinchcomb was very wrong and he wouldn’t stop talking about it.

He called a pass incomplete because it “skipped off the ground”. Repeated this at least a couple times, while the replay was running, twice, that showed the pass never touched the ground.

You clearly didn't see Emery get the ball back on the ground. It was obvious on the replay and then the Arkansas defender pulled it out and stood up.

Let me correct you. As far as the fumble, it was the correct call because Emory had possession and was down and then the pile formed and it was stripped. It was clear as day. As far as targeting, you can not say one was targeting and the other was not. But if you called one, you have to call the other. Both must have come down to defenseless players because the head was not targeted with either play.

Stench comb loves to hear himself incessantly babble inaccuracies as if saying something several times makes it correct. He needs to go sit in a corner.....

And not having a good crowd noise only accents what they are saying. Not a good combo there.

Even bitchy hog fans have come back and said emery had it and it was pried away under the pile. It clearly shows this on the replay. You’re just being a contrarian to agitate people.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

You’re the only one delusional here if you think those announcers did a good job.

Most on here probably aren't old enough to remember this, but in the 1st super bowl I watched as a kid (XII), Billy Joe Dupree (cowgirls te) caught what was ruled a td pass. I swear the LSU receiver had the ball 2-3 times as long as Dupree did back then. The ball basically hit Dupree's hands, stuck for a MILLISECOND, and flew to the ground immediately. It just shows how much the catch rule has changed over time, and how the cowgirls always got the calls back then.

I don't usually look at the game thread, but I did today. For the first time, I realized our fans are just as delusional as Bama fans.

You might possibly have spectrum disorder if you truly believe what you stated here. Both of the hits by Eli Ricks and the Arkansas defender Catalon were the exact same situation. In fact, Ricks just laid a hard hit with his shoulder directly into the Arkansas player's upper chest area. Because the Arkansas player was ducking as the hit came in, it was interpreted as "forcible contact to the head or neck area." The Arkansas player, Catalon, did the exact same thing. He hit Boutte forcibly to the head or neck area as Boutte was falling down. If one of the hits was considered targeting, both were. The fumble was absolutely recovered by Emery and then pulled from him after being ruled down by contact. If you're unable to make those judgements by watching the replays, it may be best that you not call other LSU fans delusional. It seems that your mind is incapable of rational thinking so you may actually be the one interpreting the results of the plays in the realm of delusion.

you have to complete the ENTIRE SEQUENCE

Wrong, it was a catch and score. The ball and player were out of bounds at that point and the play was dead when he hit the ground. He had crossed the plane of the goal line and hit the ground out of bounds. The catch was completed, then he hit the ground.
