Just looked at a couple NIT bracketology (yup) projections

frick it, someone has to. One had us out, the other has us as a 4 seed (which would mean hosting a game)
Another one had us unlisted but hadn’t been updated since feb 26
If you really want LSU to get in, you might have to embrace tCult for a couple days and hope aggy wins a couple SECT games, sneaks in the NCAAT and opens up that second at large spot because as of now its them and ole miss

Don't ever trust anything by College Sports Madness (if that is one of them you saw). They are awful on all sports. I guarantee they don't know the new rules but the NIT selection process.

I admit I googled NIT projections yesterday too. Didn’t find the one with LSU on it but did realize that the auto bids for NIT go to the conference regular season winners that don’t win their conference tourney for all the little guys
Need the #1 seeds in the Ivy, MetroAaC, Big Sky, etc. 1-and-done conferences to win their conference tournaments so there’s more at large bids available in the NIT for schools like LSU too.

The one i saw has us in the Virginia region hosting Memphis

Are we sure Mississippi State is getting in? 19-12 (8-10) NET 42. Especially if they lose to LSU in the SEC tournament. Playing Mississippi State may have cooked LSU's best 2 remaining NETs goose. Either LSU beats Mississippi State and MSU misses the tournament and takes an NIT spot or LSU loses and misses the NIT.
Just gonna have to win the whole thing.

He had them as a 10 and second to last bye before they lost on Saturday. Then they would lose to LSU. They'd be trying to cling to a play in spot.

LSU needed to not eat the poo poo against A&M in the PMAC and they'd already be in the NIT. Plus they wouldn't be playing Mississippi State. Or you know not lost to Nicholls.

I thought an LSU win over Missouri would automatically get them in the NIT....500 SEC record and guarantee a winning season even after the SEC tourney. But my God!!! I just watched the highlights of the game. With 2:30 to play, Missouri had 56 points. I thought they scored 80. I believed I had misread the final score. HOW IN THE HELL CAN Y0U ALLOW 24 POINTS IN 2:30 MINUTES?

Project that point total over a game and you would give up 384 points! And some people here wonder why some of us seriously question McMahon's coaching ability!
After that finishing performance, the best thing for LSU is to end the season in the first game of the SEC tourney and just go home. Totally embarrassing !

The difference between us and many of the bubble/ last bye's is our quad 2 record. which is worse than our quad 1. Don’t get me wrong, the nichols loss was bad, but our 1-6 vs quad 2 record is why we are where we are.
