I would hope so. You have to work under the assumption that at anytime any email could be read by the public if you work for a government entity

Actually, I know plenty. I have started 4 companies from the ground up, 2 of which were health care related (and if you think the NCAA has rules, try dealing with all of the complexities of the healthcare industry).
They hired WW knowing his name had been "brought up" before. They took on that risk. There are certainly off the record things that could have been done to get everyone on the same page and asses the full scope of what was happening and the repercussions of said decision. F.King handled this black and white, and that shows he is in territory he isn't comfortable being in. This situation needed to be finessed and that takes SKILL.
And because he doesn't have that SKILL, the media ATE LSU ALIVE.

Again, that's the save face answer and not the way someone that is great in their job would handle it.
F.KIng screwed up. He thinks he's protecting the University, but in fact, he has caused far more harm that he could comprehend in that moment.

Additionally, Fking has lamented the need for paying these type of high quality coaches that has proven time and time again, when you spend the money on athletics (WHICH THE ACADEMIC SIDE OF LSU DOES NOT EVEN DO) it has been proven to increase national exposure of the school and increase enrollment without the effort of increased recruitment (of students). Instead, Fking worries about "perception" of they athletic department spending it's own money
Unfit to be a university president. Maybe he'd be more successful at a tiny liberal arts school with sub 5000 enrollment and no athletic program.

Many people fail to see the intangible benefits of things. And when I say "he failed to comprehend the magnitude of that decision", I was talking about the tangible and intangible things. Failing to control the media's pounce and such should have him fired immediately. There's no telling how many millions of dollars his knee jerk reaction will cost the University.
