Just crazy the only reason we are in this mess is because they signed contracts…

It would have been something else regardless. This didnt start with NFL contracts, it started with saying rhey could not transfer from ole miss outside spring window

The response is because it was Lane and LSU. If this was Georgia there’s nowhere near the response.

They were frothing at the mouth to go after LSU for Lane and Wade and when this news broke they saw their opening. It may very well end up backfiring because after the initial onslaught of “LSU IS TRYING TO RECRUIT PROS” you’re seeing a lot of media breakdown how absurd the position is compared everything else going on in college sports.

Now the SEC and certain of the other schools have backed themselves into a corner on an issue they didn’t need to pick a fight on. Unfortunate all around because the players (and LSU) are ultimately in the right but if the conference tries to go scorched earth it’s still one vs 15 and that’s not a good place to be.

the whole idea of "not professional contracts" because its hidden under the disguise of "NIL" is completely laughable.

They were told they were out of eligibility. Then all of a sudden guys are getting 5th years. They were never given that chance.

At the end of the day, whatever they did, made them ineligible athletes. NCAA rules Chambliss ineligible. Regardless of the reason. He is also ineligible. Filed a suit, got a TRO. SEC silent.

LSU wants to add 5th year srs after 5-5 is instilled stating class of 22 is still eligible. NCAA says no. Players sue and get TRO, SEC threatens nuclear option if lay signs them.

At the end of the day, it’s the same thing. Playing ineligible players. Kind of fitting this hearing for LSU came quick and the one for Chamblis can’t be heard until Easter 2027
