What makes Ware so appealing to the pros is his pass catching ability. He has great hands for a RB.

I expect Mingo, Montgomery, Logan, Minter, Reid, Simon and Wing to all declare. We will only have 4 returning starters on defense plus Freak who is really a starter. Will be Chavis' biggest challenge in quite some time. Offense should be good but our defense could resemble the 2008 squad.

Minter would only improve by coming back. So many big name LB's ahead of him. He could be the best next year if he came back.

Very true. Jones and Teo will be 1 and 2.

I don't think Minter has had enough exposure to go pro yet.

I started a thread quoting a guy on SEC Rant who said that Sonic Sam is returning, fwiw.

Well Wing is a true sophomore.

I think we lose 3. Mingo, Montgomery, and Reid.

This is the Mock Draft I've been looking at.

Mock Draft

Reid could improve by coming back. But if he graduated he may not return.

By that Draft Mingo and Montgomery could improve their stock by returning as well. A few people have said they haven't seen the production out of Mingo and Montgomery this year that they expected.

Simon has a lot to improve on. Logan could improve his stock. And Minter could improve his stock with a lot of big name LB's off the board this year.

If our players were that good of draft prospects, don't you think we'd be even better on defense?

What? How much better could we really be?

I thought this too until someone proved me wrong earlier this season. Wing is actually a redshirt sophomore.

LB - Kevin Minter is better than Bradie James, imho

Wow, this lost you all credibility with me. You must be retarded or have never seen Bradie MF James play.

I think Mingo could benefit from coming back. Doesn't look nearly as efficient this year being an every down DE instead of a situational guy/pure pass rusher. He doesn't really need to go pro - family isn't dirt poor and he is a smart guy who will graduate, but those $$ are hard to pass up.
Reid has been playing hurt most of the year slowing him down some, but I think he and Monty definately go.
Don't think Logan doesn't have Brockers next to him taking all the double teams anymore and I think it shows some this year. Hasn't been as effective

Didn't we honor Patrick Peterson his jr year on Senior day? I'm saying this because we could know Saturday who is leaving and who isn't.

Mixed feelings.... .

If half of the names listed go... I will think it would be a pretty big shame..... Because they could have sooo, sooo much back for a title run...

(So, as some have alluded to with draft projections, the season has illustrated some unexpected things -- that being a less effective Mingo {but is he destined as a 3-4 OLB anyway??} Logan and Reid, -- but the same not being a championship season, will these guys who played for a title in 2011, and fell short to a good Gator team and Bama.. want more????

Things have changed in this 3 months

BUt back to my mixed feelings..

Too bad if so many leave, BUT, the defense is more capable to reload than the offense... just on pure system, and maybe talent as well

DTs - Johnson and Ferguson
DEs - Rasco and Hunter
LB - Barrow ( a good one) and the Freshmen!
CB - Mills, Simon? Collins
S - Loston, Martin, Eugene..

They still have a lot to work with minuse those named... but I want to see those guys make LSU knock out the country in 2013!!!!

Yep...I'm thinking Wing will leave early. He's not that fond of school from what's been floated around. He may not even get drafted, but that may turn out better for him in the long run getting picked up in free agency.

Well, if we really have six players who are going to be drafted in the first two rounds of the next draft... um, that would be just about the best defense ever assembled. So how about #1 in the SEC for starters?
