LF- hurt most of his Junior year, didn't see him turn it on for Heisman run. (we did get to see Guice though)

Guice, bang up this year, didn't really see him turn it on for Heisman run...and he's that good...

Key- shoulder surgery, didn't see him all year long, not really...not practicing this week, probably won't play in the bowl...he's felt absent most of the season

we've had other key lineman in recent years as well that seemed to shine their sophomore years, and then fizzle their junior year and still get highly drafted...

I understand injuries are factor but dang, do we have bad luck or what is the deal?

In summary, we get a glimpse their freshman year of high potential, they bust out Sophomore year, then coast to draft junior...

1 good solid full year and boom their gone?

Agreed. I was thinking about this on my drive to work the other day. We have seen many guys come through the past few years that were either banged up or has issues stopping them from playing to their potential. Weird.

I agree except LF injury was definitely legit and holding him back. It's still nagging him in the NFL.

It may be the new con. Feign any injury you want, coast to the draft. Respect for Guice for playing in the bowl game and not following in the footsteps of Fournette.

LF had some phenomenal games. That's plenty for me. Don't be too selfish. Appreciate what we had.

Oregeron told Fournette not to play in the game. Go back and watch the Wisconsin and Auburn games and see how bad his leg was hurting him at the end of those games, yet there he was fighting alongside his teammates the whole time.

If Fournette was healthy the whole season, he plays in the bowl game. It's that simple. That he selfishly chose himself over the LSU program is a flat out lie.

hell, how many guys have gone thru the program that we never got a really good year out of? they played sparingly, looked like they were ready to emerge and have a great season, and they were eligible and left early.

for the RB's and the guys who are dominating their positions, by all means, they should go. very few of the guys who leave early and don't fit in that class end up with a decent career. Sad. no one blames a poor kid for needing money, I just wish they had the maturity to understand in some cases it's in their best interest to stay.

Malachi Dupre Is the first person that comes to my mind. He could have been our best receiver this year. DJ would have been our second option

He's Heisman material, ....I am just saying....

he didn't even get an invite...

We're talking about one of the greatest athletes to put on the Purple and Gold...

I am not saying the guys are faking injuries, I am just pointing out a pattern of late...

how many people said LF should just sit out his junior year? Lot's of media did...

we don't get guys to stay for their senior years...

it's a different time...money has changed the purity of playing college football.

There is no way I would miss a bowl game....after your playing days are over, it's over...college is special time, these guys are embracing dollars over memories...it is what it is

Players leaving early is a big reason if not the biggest reason LSU has been knocked down level or two the past 5-6 years.

I don't like the NFL.
I like LSU and I like to win.
You guys that constantly toot this he should definitely leave horn need to turn your LSU polos on for some fricking NFL players jersey and join that group of degenerates.

I'll admit I'm selfish. LSU winning is more important to me than how much money LF or Darrius guice makes.

They weren’t coasting

Obscurity of the O lineman! William Clapp is a junior who made 1st Team All SEC for the 2nd year in a row (at a different position) and was also a Remington Award finalist. Qualifies as a solid junior campaign no?

This is what I believe. LSU culture? Bama doesn't seem to have Juniors playing at 80%/with injuries or leaving as Juniors. The culture seems different!

There's a lot of truth in that statement, but there's also a lot of selfishness in Nick Saban. And for the most part, I'd say those juniors who have stayed for Saban aren't quite on the level of Honeybadger and Fournette.
