He’s done for the day. Assuming the A’s don’t blow this, he’ll be 3–1 and 2.37 ERA in first five MLB starts. Not a whole lot of folks not named Skenes roll out of the gates that well and quickly when they get called up.

Jump is a beast.
Pitchers these days are so good. it’s unfair.

Jesus Christ how big of a loser do you have to be for this to be your post in this thread?
ETA: I hope one day, thirty years from now, that you earn $3.17 on a Gage Jump card that you waited for hours at Target for.

Some of them are, for sure. But a lot of what's going on is hitting is awful now. The "three true outcome" era has made guys easy to get out. Sure they'll run into some, with their gigantic uppercut swings, but they all strike out a million times.
I love baseball, but it's getting harder to watch.

I was more talking about how he will be a good prospect to collect..im not talking about base set cards. im talking about higher end stuff.
sorry but I enjoy collecting lsu players cards . not sure the issue. the best of the best prospects come out in the set and im guessing he will be in it which is a pretty cool deal. im guessing kade anderson will too

I hope one day, thirty years from now, you can look back and realize how much of a douche you are to react like this.

He did shut down my Cubbies, but they were in the midst of a month-long stretch where they weren't scoring runs on anyone, so I was not sure what to make of it. But it appears he's carving out a good season so far.

Good for him. Love to see it. Hopefully Tommy White joins him in the big leagues.

We were like 1 or 2 more decent bullpen arms away from making a serious run at the CWS in ‘24. Or maybe even just the ‘25 version of Sam Dutton at Auburn as the 3rd starter. Or for Thatcher Hurd to not have sucked cock. There weren’t a lot of teams with their top 3 guys ad good as Jump, Holman, and Herring by the end of that season. And Herring may have been the best pen guy in America.
And we were SOOOO close to getting out of that Chapel Hill regional. Jump only gave up 3 in 7.2 innings to Wofford in the opener, and struck out 9 to 0 walks, but our bats couldn’t do shite and we had to come back and score 3 in the last 2 innings to win, I think. And we had to use Herring in the 9th, who did strike out the side in order, I believe.
Holman wasn’t terrible against UNC, but gave up 4 runs—all on 2 homers (a 3-run early, and a solo late). He did give up 7 hits, but that UNC team could hit. I think he came out in the 6th with 2 outs, Loer faced a batter and got us out of the inning, then Dutton gave up 2 in .1 to make it 6-2, which was the final. We weren’t winning that game no matter what, though, only scoring 2 runs.
The 2nd Wofford game is where I think we lost the regional. (Obviously we still had a great chance at the end of the final game, but we should have been going to Herring to close it out instead of Jump out of the pen and on very short rest.) I think Ack gave up 5 runs without recording an out. (Just looked it up, and he got 2 outs). But Herring had to come in and shove for 6.1 innings—against fricking Wofford. So, in our 2 wins over them, we had to use Herring for 7.1 innings. We needed him for UNC. Oh well. (Btw, Kade Anderson struck out the side in order in the 7th or 8th of that game fwiw).
That team was so close. But so are a lot of teams. That’s baseball.

He definitely didn't have 10 strikeouts last night

Tuned in late in the 6th inning and when the finished the 7th the broadcast mentioned 10k’s. Took em for their word and didn’t recheck. 7 k’s was his total

If you can hit .250-.260 with 15-20HRs, you are now considered a great player.

Starting 5
Skenes, Kade, Jump, Gausman, and Eyanson.
Nola probably on a decline.

There are still people that think Holman was the better pitcher here

Another good performance tonight with 5 IP and 9 K's. Left the game with the score 0-0

When they're done, you've got Taylor and Latz in the bullpen as well.
