This was a very good recruiting class, but LSU missed on what should have been easy in-state recruits. If we are going to compete against BAMA, we need that extra bit of talent. It makes a huge difference.

If i had to guess, Craig may have engaged in a few recruiting violations. That may be why they cut him loose.

I have been out of pocket the last few days and haven't been able to really follow this. I heard something on the radio yesterday about with Juluke it had a lot to do with some personal issues he has been dealing with since mid season. Any idea as to what this is all about? Might be why he was reassigned and not just fired like Craig.

I had a bad feeling about Devonta Smith in the weeks leading up to NSD.

Juluke was in over his head coaching and recruiting wise. Craig didn't mesh with O, they weren't on the same page.

quote:I think Tre was overrated in high school, just me. We gave up more long plays than we should have.
BJS wants to be running back and we wanted him as a LB, but he ain't an SEC running back. Tre would have been a roster drag for multiple years because he's not nearly as good as the guys we actually got. Misses aren't always bad. But if we offered them and they went elsewhere, we missed.
Bruce will be an LB at Tech. That's been known since before the season started.
There was talk last year and the year before about Bruce at LSU, but it died out pretty quickly. They are legacy players at GT, if such a status exists, Bruce and Kenny went to Tech.

I agree with your statement in general. But LSU replaced their in-state "misses" with equal or better out-of-state players.
The only issue I really have with misses is our staff having to (somewhat) scramble to find a player with equal talent from out of state- which doesn't always work in our favor. However, if I had a choice, I'm going with the best talent available.. in state or not, unless we KNOW for a fact the player won't sign.

The story on the RB is that Juluke is a few years away from cashing in on his State pension plan, and a close family member may have health issues. Juluke is a Louisiana guy and we decided to take care of him even though Canada wants his own position coach.
