Well I guess Coach O was not happy with the recruiting effort as well. We lost way too many Louisiana kids, we should have landed at least 28 recruits. My thread about this yesterday got whacked so I guess the mods were clueless as well. Way to go Coach O!!!

Finally. I didn't want to be the first one to mention Tyke Tolbert again.

I brung him up before Craig was even gone, baw.

I see he's had some recruiting coordinator roles at UF and USL. make the call, Eaux.

Craig and Juluke were simply the fall guys. Someone to hang the blame on. They know who's feet the real blame should be placed at!

Guice is not going to like Juluke being gone. That's his guy. He talks about what a great coach he is after every game.

Doesn't matter, Guice will get over it and we talking just one more season anyway...

Funny. I said Craig was lousy during the season and got a lot of hate for it.

I don't see CEO getting rid of Craig for simply missing on a few recruits...he had to have done something pretty severe to get the boot...some of which have already been discussed. frick, those two guys were supposed to be filthy on the recruiting trail...remember getting all giddy when CLM hired them

Is Garrett penciled in as a starter at one of the guard spots this spring?

It was telling when Craig stayed home the final weekend. At least I believe he did.

I understand juluke. He was hired to recuit and he didn't do that well. End story.

Something happened with craig. He killed it on the recruiting trail. And the wrs finished the season on a strong note.

There's more to the story than missing a couple of recruits.

Gotta agree with you. I doubt Pete Carroll threatened O every time he whiffed on a prospect.

I didn't read the whole thread but has anyone heard anything about Craig maybe steering a recruit to another school?

Craig was also the "recruiting coordinator". If some of you knew how completely unorganized recruiting was this year, and at times a complete shite show, you would be way more impressed with the class we just signed.
Yes, some on here understand what's going on, most don't.

Just because you are a good one on one personal recruiter doesn't make you competent as the "Recruiting Coordinator"; takes organizational abilities as well. Craig aint it.

Some "Offensive/Defensive" Coordinators don't make good HC's.

Some "Position" Coaches don't make very good Coordinators.

Many "Great Recruiters" can't coach their way out of wet paper bags and are in over their heads at "Big Boy" schools like LSU.

Craig was IOHH at FSU, Alma Mater U and LSU. Juluke was as well.

All goes back to Miles and his lowered standards of excellence in the declining years.

Now, just hope that O/Canada will hire a WR Coach that has actually played the position in College/NFL and can develop the talents of their position athletes. Too much wasted talent at LSU in that area.

And, hopefully, the next RB Coach will discuss the play call and his assignment with the RB during a timeout before the last play of a critical SEC game! .......................

I agree that they lost too many recruits. Performance matters here. They are the ones out there with these prospects and if they can't get them here then they are out.

Yeah right, these guys did not get the boot because of their recruiting. Our in state recruiting set a record this year landing 3 of our top ten Louisiana kids. We even made new in roads taking 2 of our top five with Bama getting only 3 of our top five.
Unfortunately we set a new record with in state recruits in the wrong direction. This with Coach O publicly saying his top priority is bringing our in state boys home to LSU. 2017 Louisiana Football Recruits

I'm not buying the Saban shadow-staff theory. I'm thinking Craig knew he was going to Oregon and quit recruiting for LSU. As for Juluke, it sounds like Canada wants to upgrade.

I'll take a crack at it . . . Maybe that Saban/Bama ate our lunch in in-state recruiting this year. As for as to who he's hinting at is really to blame I don't know. O? Les? Other staff?

I've not been impressed with the receivers route running as well.
I wish Craig the best but I'm not disappointed that he is gone.
