Watching from home i figured many LSU fans sold their tix. It was the same situation the Saints Superbowl yr when we played the Cowboys. The place was overrun with Jerry's kids.

After the game I sold 4 ticket studs for $10 each to an AL fan who wanted them as souvenirs for his grandchildren. Guess I'm the ultimate Judas to some, but I was happy to have the beer money. Lord knows I needed it.

If Bama fans are dumb enough to spend $1500-$5000 on a ticket to a college sporting event, I say sell em. Sell em all.

Not a chance. Maybe you meant 55-LSU 45-Bama.

From where I was, it was 55/45 in favor of Bama and I could not even see the LSU side terrace because I was under the overhang. There was zero P&G in the Bama side terrace and very little in the club and plaza sections. If the LSU terrace is included it the count, it might be more like 60/40 in favor of Bama.

I agree to a certain extent with the original poster. Obviously, we did not lose BECAUSE of the fan distribution. That's silly. However, it is not silly to say that LSU fans who indiscriminately sold LSU section seats to Alabama fans - thereby ruining the experience of surrounding LSU fans - in order to enrich themselves are greedy and disloyal.

Now, allow me to respond on behalf of said greedy and disloyal folk:

"They were my tickets! This here is A-MER-I-CA. Ain't no commy. Capitalist. The invisible hand force be with you. I sold it for market value and got me's some Skoal money. Aiiiieeee. I'll do what I want."

Yes, yes you will. And I'll mock you for it*.

[*I expressly exclude from my mockery those fans who legitimately needed the money to pay for family expenses in difficult times, etc. I get that. But most sellers don't fall in that category.]

I hate that people sold out but it is what it is. There were plenty of these threads before the game and as disappointing as it may be, it won't change the outcome.

So you were in the Lsu section, looking directly at the Nama sections, and you couldn't see ybiggest portion of of the stadium where the Lsu fans sat.....did you stay at a holiday inn last night?

Are there any seats in the dome that can see every seat? Maybe first row plaza, but I haven't web there since it's been redone.

Well, the BCS actually sells the tickets. I really don't know how the the student tickets work, but unlike entering Tiger Stadium where you show ID, at the Bowls, a Ticket is a Ticket.

Now this is about Student Tickets. I think it is grossly unfair for student to make a profit on a ticket, when other students wanted to buy them and go.

I think LSU should have a monitor at future bowl games, and randomly check people sitting in student sections. The monitor checks the stub and if it doesn't correspond to the Student who bought the ticket, then said Student is banned from buying tickets to any LSU sponsored event - athletics or otherwise - ever again and it is put on the student's record.

Then you won't have this stuff going on. They can sell the ticket back to LSU but no one else.

The amount of Georgia people in the actual LSU section at the SEC Championship was FAR WORSE!

This. It was beyond ridiculous in ATL. Our seats were in a section where the tickets came directly from LSU, and yet almost 70% of the fans around us were for UGA.

The truth is that LSU does not travel all that well for bowl games anymore. I blame the economy in part, because people just can't justify spending that kind of money right now. We brought a ton of fans to Dallas for the Oregon game this year and a big group to ATL for the UNC game last season, but the number of Tiger fans in Orlando for the Capital One Bowl wasn't all that impressive.

Bama fans will sell their first-born child for a football game ticket and risk foreclosure of their double wides. That being said, I was very surprised that so many of our fans were unloading tickets. We were playing for an undefeated season, a NC, against our most hated rivals, in our own backyard. Maybe it just meant more to their fans than ours.

You're missing my point. I am not chastising you for selling your tickets. All I am saying, is why not put in a little extra effort and sell to LSU fans? You probably would have made the same amount of money, or close, and could have allowed those seats to have friendlys in them.

he's showed who he is and how much he doesn't care. you are wasting your time.

my problem is that lsu fans love to claim how passionate they are. They are the best fans out there. This just proves not only did the bama team win but their fans kick our fans arse too. We wish we had a fan base as passionate as theirs.

yes, i was there. Bama had us out numbered slightly. And, they were in the dome way before our fans. therefore, when you went to sit in your seat, you really felt out numbered.

I kept my tickets and had offers I could have made allot of money on them. Actually had an offer from a Bamma fan. But this was my birthday present from my wife. She knows how much I love LSU!

I blame Miles for the Loss!

But the number of bamma fans was a disgrace!!At least 50-50.

You do realize that most of the LSU "faithful" (you're calling "Judas") who sold their ticket, were season ticket holders who received their ticket from LSU...right?

You do know that LSU only distributed 8,690 tickets to their season ticket holders...right?

Let's say that 50% of those season ticket holders sold their ticket to Bama fans. Extremely high assumption, but let's go with that.

That's 4,345 additional Bama fans getting into the Superdome, because an LSU season ticket holder sold them their ticket.

You do know that the Superdome seats 76,468 for football...right?

So you're saying that an additional 5% more Bama fans made the difference in the game?

Now I understand. I wasn't really sure why we lost, but now I know. That 5% was the tipping point.

Great Thread!!!

I also was there, and it was very clear that there were more Bama fans in attendance. There was very little P&G bleeding into the Bama sections but quite a lot of red in the LSU sections. There really is no question about this and it as very surprising. I do know that the ticket reserve prices for Bama was generally higher than ours for most of the season, and apparently some LSU fans sold their tickets to the Gumps
