well you ain't his dad and when did you turn down $975K as garbage money...???

stay out of Josh's business...he is quite capable of deciding just what is in his best interests to do...

we all got opinions, bottom line if I'm his dad...I push him to stay 1 more year...he is worth much more, after he plays in the minors, he will just another ss....his only shot if he signs is to make it to the top...Will be tough...I'd stay another year and sign for way more

so you think he is worth much more but isn’t good enough to make it to the show?

what does this even mean?

he’d have zero leverage as a senior and he’s already missed basically an entire year due to a back injury

How dumb is it for a fan to even think we have a say in a 18-22 year old to not take life changing money to go play out their dream of playing professional baseball to come back and play for their team where he isn’t even on a full scholarship?

If he wants and play another year I would be ecstatic. I’m just tired the excuse for him to come back is that 6 figures to play baseball isn’t a lot of money because taxes and agent and blah coming from people that probably haven’t made 6 figures in their life. It happens every year at this time.

Why would it quadruple? I really don’t see him exceeding his production from this year.

This poster has accepted his role on this board as the biggest dumbass poster when it comes to baseball. His stupidity started off as just terrible thoughts, and he has now turned it into full troll attempts.

Smith's slot may be for 900k, but he is going to sign for probably well over that. Next season he can come back, get drafted higher, and sign for under 900k. There is a 0% chance Smith is playing for LSU next season.

Again, this poster knows that (no way in hell he is THIS dumb), but he is craving the attention that I just gave him.

His stats in the best of college baseball aren’t likely to be better next year. He is about at his ceiling in the eyes of MLB scouts which I’m not agreeing with but it is what it is. He has no leverage next year. He can potentially get more money than his slot is for.

He most likely leaves. I wish him luck and congratulate him for his years of work and perseverance. Hopefully he gets traded cuz I hate the Yankees , and to another good team.

My personal opinion is that he should leave.

You do realize if he stayed he’d get less money than he is being offered currently right?

The funniest part of this whole thread is how sharkfin has zero idea that he doesn’t know how the MLB draft/leverage works.

Josh Smith deserves every cent that he gets and should sign. The kid did everything the right way. He represented LSU with the highest class and always left it on the field.
