Thing is, a back situation will not be that attractive to any team that would want to draft him. Someone will take a flier late, but the money would be a lot better if he came back another year.

It fricking blows that after all the hype surrounding Smith, lead off batter, next in line of great Tiger SS's, blah blah blah...he only played 6 games.

I'm a little confused how this is being so misinterpreted. I'm not blaming Smith for only playing 6 games, I'm blaming the stupid injury bug that's had this team in its grasp all season.

Well, I mean he has no choice but to come back. He's not draft eligible after this season.

Beat MSU and we're likely in.

I don't think so. I think we are out in that scenario.

If we win 2, I think we have an argument. Even then, we'd be 50/50 at best.

What are you basing this opinion on?

There is no way lsu would be left out if they won 2 in hoover. Their rpi would be around 35 and maybe higher if they beat florida, and they would have a winning conference record

I think they are already in, as long as we don't have a slew of upsets in smaller conferences.

A win Tuesday and they are in no matter what as a 3 seed somewhere.

A win against UF and a 2 seed is possible.

I hope this isn't just wishful thinking from me, because I'm not ready for baseball season to end.

Seems strange to me

Not strange at all. When I injured my back I had back spasms for a couple months if I just turned the wrong way. I couldn't imagine swinging a bat, throwing a ball or hell even bending down to field a ground ball. It takes your back a long time to heal from even a seemingly insignificant injury.

I hurt my back at work 6 months ago and I still get twinges from time to time if I twist wrong. It's debilitating any more but it's there. Those first two months were hell.

Now to be fair I didn't have access to the kind of rehabilitation treatment that an LSU baseball player does nor am I in peak physical condition but still.

But this is one more thing to blame on CPM. They can't pass up that opportunity.

You are fooling yourself.

You are probably right about that. I may be underestimating our chances with 2 wins.
