Josh Pearson, Professional Hitter.
Inherited the title from Chris Reid.
I love these kinds of guys and appreciate their contributions to the Tiger baseball program. They're not the greatest athletes on their teams but are still vital to the success of the program.

Good thread. Something that I hadn’t thought about until recently is what if his brother had come to LSU instead of going to the draft. He was a 3rd round pick and got a million dollar signing bonus but it looks like he’s out of baseball now. I bet he wishes he would come to LSU for 3 years instead.
Big reason why the younger two went to LSU imo. Jacob was the best hitter growing up that I've ever seen. Crazy power and would go backside when they refused to throw him fastballs/anything close to the plate. Shows just how hard it is to hit pitching nowadays, especially with a wood bat.

He was and is a gem for LSU

He hit .300 in AAA ball and his contract wasn't renewed. And that just shows how competitive those spots are.

Unfortunately it was the perfect storm of him not playing much this year. The outfield was absolutely stacked. He nor Larson took the field much and they both would have started on many teams this year. Johnson had such a a good off-season with recruiting and portal and he crushed any deficiencies we had in 2024, and then some.

I know the Pearsons, they have the hunting camp next to mine. Jacob was a career .220 hitter or so in A and AA ball. He was a fantastic baseball player but hindsight he wasn’t a pro prospect and should have gone to college.
Family is awesome people BTW

Correct, he played in only three games for the AAA Gwinnett Stripers before being released. But he did go 3 for 10.

And in other news, John Pearson is starting to hit his stride with the LaCrosse Loggers of the Northwoods Summer League. He has played 1st and DH but mostly 3rd. In just a few games played, he's batting .370 with two doubles and a HR.
