Is this Josh?

Considering it says "Josh Maravich" on his VIP badge, then I'd have to say, yes

Yes, that is Josh Maravich. He played at LSU, Jason played at Alabama. Today, Josh wore a pair of his dad's socks that he wore when he played for the Jazz. And not only did he physically resemble his dad, I think he had been practicing some of Pistol's moves, too. I really thought it was uncanny how much he resembled him on the court today. Glad to see him here today.

Not to take away from the thread. But it still sickens me how he was treated by Brady. No one would blame him for holding that against LSU. Very mature, classy, and respectful of him to not do so.

to the Maravich's

+1. Anyone who hasn't read his biography is really missing an enjoyable story. It's on CD at the Covington Library, fwiw.

Josh's bio? Autobiography? Is it printed anywhere? Love to read it.

I see him at Francos in Mandeville all the time. Great kid, nice as can be. Talked to him about pistol.always playing basketball. I know he is still trying to play in some developmental type league. He played out west last summer.

MikeyMike - That's Josh's older brother Jaeson. Jaeson played a William Carey and I believe was player of the year in that division (I think NAIA). I played against Josh in Highschool. He is not the one trying to play in the pros.

FYI - Jaeson is an outstanding player. I have played against him in that Franco's league and he is one of my friends. He told me last week that he was assistant coaching at a small school on the Northshore (I forgot the name but will get it if your interested). He said he might want to go into coaching but obviously want to play somewhere. He made the last cut 2 times with Atlanta and they resigned Tyron Lue the first time and drafted Michael Connley(sp) the second. Went overseas to Australia to play but didn't go as planned and came back. Not sure if he's still trying out. Great guy. Wish he could make it somewhere. He works really hard on his game.

ETA: Jaeson is absolutely not ghetto. He may dress like it but he just wears alot of basketball stuff (throwback jerseys and stuff). He gets a lot of stuff from Adidas because they have a deal with his family to put "Pistol" on the shoes with two pistols crossed. Gave a pair to my brother. One of the nicest guys around.

Here's a pair they did. I guess my point is if Adidas was giving me free shite I'd wear it too, ghetto or not.

Josh did not play at Alabama. He played at William Carey which is in Mississippi.

if only he could play just like Papa.

Keep in mind that Pistol Pete died when they were still small children. If Pete had lived long enough to teach them just a few more tricks of the trade, then the sons both could have mopped up the competition in the SEC...

From the little that I have heard, Brady often used him as an example to other players pointing out how much he sucked. Just one example that I have heard--, if Josh stole the ball or juked another player in practice, Brady would yell at the player, with the likes of "That is Josh Maravich--Josh Maravich!!!-- who just stole the ball from you...how do you expect to play college basketball if you let JOSH MARAVICH steal the ball?!!". I heard there are many stories like that. He would also steadfastly refuse to put Josh in the game with rather large leads. When he did, it was often at the urging of fans and often with only a few seconds left. He obviously resented Josh and what he stood for--ties to LSU's past. He also probabaly resented that he was all but forced to have Josh onthe team.

I am sure there are much more detailed stores, some of which I have seen here, but cannot recall.

I know both of these images were posted earlier in the thread, but something about seeing them side-by-side is very spooky...in a good way.
