The OP, an obvious alter/troll, says JJ was a good QB and asks for arguments otherwise.

Of course many posters jump in to bash the kid and feed the troll, so I simply provided the actual numbers to argue that he was actually a pretty good QB and was inarguably successful.

You’re cherry picking stats and those states aren’t even mind flowing. He only contributed of 200 total yards 1 time safter he took over as a starter.

He was perfectly mediocre to shitty in most of his games
.
Lee sucked too, but JJ wasn’t good.

100% agree. with the right coaching in a simplified offense could’ve been a great college QB with the talent he had

Jefferson was Heisman like in his debut against Georgia tech.

He came on in relief of JL after he was injured vs OM in '08. He started the next week vs Arky. Played pretty good but we still lost.

I agree with the OP. JJ was a "good" QB.

IMO, he was playing in the post-'08 self-restrained offense era (by Les - not Crowton) which made it difficult on a QB.

His best moment was '10 vs Bama. Last time we broke 20 against them - actually scored 21 pts in the 2nd half alone. Crowton came to him at halftime and told him they were going to open up the offense in the 2nd half.

I like to remember our players for their best moments, not their worst.

JJ was tough. Always gave a 100%. Called the plays he was told to. It's unfortunate he got stuck in the offense era he did.

Hate JJ all you like, but we're still waiting to add to the short arse list of LSU QBs with more than one career win vs Bama.
Count them and get back.

He should have been a linebacker, maybe a strong safety. He would be in the NFL.

He wasn’t bad. We’ve had bad, aka Marcus Randall, Anthony jennings, Hatch, harris, etc

All of his NFL starts tells you how good of a QB he was.

The 2018 J. Jefferson is good, let’s focus on that. Thinking about his older brother brings back horrible memories. When I think about that QB, good is the last word that would come to mind.

No if he added 10 more games to the stats that already include his totals they’d be worse by about 30%.

Jordan was a knucklehead with very good to great athletic ability. I appreciate what he did for LSU in that he played all 4 years, and agree he was OK at times. But that career average is not even if a serviceable qb

Jefferson like all the other QBs recruited and coached by Miles never stood a chance to achieve greatness. I thank them all for loving LSU enough to do their best even though they were handicapped by the system.

Huh? We don't win that game without Lee. Lead early touchdown drives and the epic final GW drive with great throws to Tolliver.

Jordon Jefferson was a pro style QB in high school. He was 6-4 or6-5and had an awkward running style. He was a decent athlete so he could naturally create some plays with his feet but he always looked awkward and should have been developed as strictly a 5 step drop guy in my opinion. Instead he was a square peg in a round hole.

I hated how he used to sulk on the sidelines. He was not a leader.

He was a good RB for LSU, I agree.
Like 99% of all DT QB's; just glorified RB's that can't throw an accurate football to a WR, TE or actual RB.

Most can't read defenses or go through progressions either. If the first receiver option is not open, they take off running with da feets do yo stuff thing.

BigEd, you must evaluate how those games were won, it surely wasn't the QB calling audibles and dropping dimes.

No, it was defense, special teams, Oline, and Great running backs.
