Not saying that this one game changed his life, but he's made it clear to everyone he has the ability and the want.

How old are you? I'm guessing eight. Take that
back, my grandson is eight and he is smarter than you.

Really not sure why everyone is so negative. Dude just accounted for four TDs against a legit team. I really have no idea what else you expect from a player.

I would be shocked if he showed up in the conversation in the preseason. If, however, he has an outstanding game against Oregon, and doesn't have any really down games early, he could easily creep into the discussion with another big game against West Virginia and/or Florida. He will certainly have opportunities to work his way into the conversation (and even win it) with several high-profile big game opportunities and playing on a potential National Title contender. I think the pundits/voters will be hypersentive to any inconsistency on his part, however (given his history), so he might have to be almost error free to stay in the hunt.

Quarterbacks who start and average 108 yards per game are always in the Heisman contention the following year...

Heh. No doubt. But guys have come from stranger places to land in the discussion with wildly unexpected seasons. Emphasis on the "wildly unexpected". Heavy, heavy emphasis.

Holy crap. I just noticed the OP posting date. Okay, you're on crack. If Jefferson threw 25 for 25 for 450 yards and 6 TDs in the Spring game and Peyton, Archie and Eli ALL proclaimed him the best QB since Willie Totten, I'd still be shocked to hear him in any serious Heisman conversation coming into the season.

Anything's possible, but I might put money on the Mayans being a year slow before I'd put it on Jordan holding the trophy next December.
