Sounds like Vince Young to me...

That's what I was thinking.

Is it just me or does it look to anyone else like coach Miles has told his assistants, "houston we have a problem", go out and find me a QB. Just a thought.

Ali was counted as a 1 star because he had previously signed with Miami, then sat out a year. I think he was a 4 out of high school

The depth at qb is low. Next year its RP, Hatch, and Lee.
Guys like Lee, 6'2 4 star high school spread qb's, dime a dozen.
LSU has a nice qb lineage going with Davey, Mauk, Russell, and Flynn. RP is next, but you have to look for the next guy and the next guy.
The spread offense (crowton's offense) is taken to another level when you have a dual threat. It can make you other skilled players look exceptional, with LSU it could mean undefeated National Championship type seasons.
6'4 and up guys who can run and gun, that's the golden elixir, snap up as many as you can. Miles should be trying to get EJ Manuel and Terrelle Pryor.

Have we signed any high potential linebackers? Or are we in the race for any really good ones??

I for one am more excited about this commitment than D.C. Jefferson because he is an in-state kid, and he appears to be more of a dual threat. He is the QB of the best 5A team in the state, it should be no question that he would come to LSU.

2 STAR on Scout. Sorry, this class scares the hell out of me. We are # 1 in the nation, right?
I just think we should be getting more 4 STARS and some fives.

Yes... we have a few committed, most notable Ryan Baker from Florida who is a Rivals Top 100 player... we have built depth there and will be fine...
The only LB we make room for now is Arthur Brown from Kansas, and we are in his Top 6 -- and likely his Top 3

When we (St.Amant) played Destrahan he really didn't impress me.

My belief is that Lee is gonna be a good one. Toliver stated after watching him play last year in high school, "I'd like to catch passes from that guy." Sorry, can't link it, but I remember the line. My understanding is he is a lot like Flynn, but with better accuracy. I'll take that!!

jarret lee is legit. i think that all the qbs this year are depth guys maybe a future marcus randall. local guy from around baton rouge with wheels and cannon but doesnt pan out. thats what the jeffersons look like to me. also we are in on aj mccarron from alabama in next years class. going to be good.

He runs more like a 4.6, not 4.4. JJ said so himself in the interview posted on scout.com, which is free.
“They like the fact that I have a strong arm and I can also run,” said Jefferson. “I don’t run a lot because of our offense but I’m a 4.6 guy (40) and I don’t mind running at all. I’m looking forward to working with coach Crowton because I think we can do some good things together.”

Sorry, no disrespect intended to the mighty Rebels! I was only going off the playoff brackets that had Destrehan #1.

you play against him or just watch?
No dude I just watched. I'm 40 yrs old. "I'm a man!!!!"
My son plays for St.Amant. We should have beat them. They blocked a field goal attempt for the win with seconds on the clock. They were highly ranked and we were.....well...lets just say we need better coaching.
