He started to slack off a little bit from what I've heard just got passed up on the depth chart, don't blame him for wanting to play somewhere else to better his career.

slacking off, then quitting before spring practice is even over certainly isn't a good recipe for bettering one's career...

This is probably the reason. I could see Bower beating him out. I wouldn't think Neal could beat him out right now. So that would still put Allen in the 2 deep. But hey, I'm not at practice, so maybe Neal beat him out too.
