Graham on KU picked up 2nd PF with 8 mins left in 1H. Self realizes his team needs him and leaves him in. KU would be down by so much more than 7 if he sat the rest of the half - he's the only one that's had a good 1H for them.

I've never understood the absolute rule he has and the fact that he can't make judgements based on the circumstances of the game.

The quality of play/coaching at the KU/Nova game is at another level then LSU.

Same thing with Niang and iowa state last night. They'd have been down 25 without him

Jones broke his rule against A&M for Simmons.

Simmons immediately got his third foul on a stupid reach in as soon as he was put back in.

Yeah, but Simmons was a shitty defender and didn't give a shite about winning.

Yeah it just means Jones knows his players. We're talking about the same players that were fouling guys when they had a double digit lead with less than a minute to go.

It also effects the defense and rebounding if the player in foul trouble is a big.

He did but they were down by 15 I think when he put him back in (first time he broke his own rule); however, left CV on bench with 2 fouls all the way to us being down by 22 at the half.

Totally missed the point lol. Or just failing to own up to it. The first time Jones broke his own rule, it backfired immediately.

I understand protecting ben and CV and even Q but when you make it an auto rule for all players it's stupid. There were times guys like gray and patterson had to sit and never got back in rhythm. Guys like that are expendable and don't need to be protected. Guys get an early foul and they are going to start thinking instead of reacting which isn't good for a team that is already bad defensively

Kansas players>>>LSU players

It's not all about coaches. You have to trust your players. Does anyone trust LSU players?

No think you may be missing the point. a reasonable person would look at all the times he sat players and it put LSU in a terrible position in 2H, not try to convince yourself he's right bc the one time he did it with game out of reach a 3rd foul was picked up (and at that point who cared; it was too late).

Honesty though, how many times were we blown out first half? It was the second half and closing games that we were terrible at. The 2 foul rule probably didn't cost us any game specifically. We had enough other issues to go around.

Who brought in the players that Jones evidently couldn't trust? The Easter Bunny? LOL

It's ALL about the coaches in NCAA Hoops. If you ain't got a good one, you won't have a complete roster, you won't develop the roster you've got, you won't recruit worth a damn and-as Johnny Jones has proven demonstrably-you won't win worth a damn without a good coach.

But tell us more about how the players and their relative level of trustworthiness-or lack thereof in our just concluded season's case-isn't about the coaches.

Johnny was in the starting lineup against Kentucky the night Dale left Steffond Johnson in to foul out in the first half. It scarred him for life.

Yep, it's when something alien to LSU becomes involved. It is referred to as coaching in some circles.
