If people were worried about the cultural fit of Kelly, they should really be worried about it Johnson. No one really cares how you act if you are winning. But if you are losing....

He's cerebral and kind of aloof. When he was asked about The Box on opening weekend, he basically said it was pretty cool. That was the perfect opportunity to heap on praise but he played it cool and stayed sort of aloof. Drew Brees got it. Love the state and they will love you back ten fold. Things like that don't matter when you are winning, but if you start to lose you better have some credit banked.

All he has to do is not act like a douchebag. He doesn’t have to praise The Box or the culture or the food. I really get the feeling that he doesn’t pay much attention to many things other than his job. And I’m fine with that.

So, you'd prefer a coach that kisses the arse of fans rather than one that can put together a winning program. I assume you think Saban is a horrible coach because he's an a-hole to the fans and media?

Agreed CJJ is worried about winning and kissin arse isn’t on his agenda. People get behind a winner, all personalities can be stomached if you win, he knows that and is only worried with building a consistent winner. He isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so get used to it and accept his demeanor.

You kinda made my point. As long as you are winning, no one cares how you act. The moment you lose (which Saban rarely does) you better have some good will built up with the fans and media. If Saban ever hit the skids, the media and fans would enjoy giving it back to him; despite his his titles and wins.

If that is what you got from my post than there isn't anything further for me to say.

He was 9-5 as the ace of the staff his freshman year and 6-0 as the Sunday guy last year.

It has nothing to do with the pressure of being coach at LSU. The time of the interview was after a disappointing weekend/game where the team made 5 errors in a game that was a game that should have been won. Opportunity wasted to have a winning weekend against good competition. I feel his "snippiness" was more frustration on the way the team played than any type of pressure.
