Why JOB would think he need a press conference baffles me. IMO he really needs to come back

It really would. The thought that he's a lock to make a bunch of money overseas is inaccurate as well.

The conflicting optimism and pessimism is hilarious. I hope he stays because we could be very good next year, but I will never fault him if he does declare.

What is wrong with this kid getting paid? A lot of euro leagues pay 6 figures and cover cost of living/house/car etc all while tax the money is tax free. Pretty sweet deal instead of going to class and still not getting drafted

Not a bad gig for a kid that out of high school probably wasn't planning on staying in college past 2 years anyway.

nailed it. i've felt all season like if he took a step forward and had a good year like he did that he should at the very least enter the draft with the intention of returning to build himself a nice portfolio with the scouts and execs. he could do that next year as well but there's always been an urgency for him to get there as quick as possible.

he would enter next season as one of the conference's top players with more hype than ever. still would enter if i were him or advising him and start building that buzz for next year unless there are bigger needs outside of basketball which he has to take care of.

This reminds me of Brandon Bass

Bass >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> JOB

Bass is a great shooter and was SEC POY.

He is a good pro player. JOB doesn't have 1/5th the skillset as Bass.

This is the way I've felt too.

He wasn't pre-season first or second team all SEC. Next year he will be preseason 1st team.

If he goes, is Deng back in play as a signee?

Im not sure what Deng's deal is. There was some confusion as to how many years he would be able to play. I think LSU could go after a SG if JOB leaves or a post. Most likely best available or nothing and save the scholarship for next year.

It'd have to be a kid who is relative unknown right now. Maybe they could go after Mike Thomas who reclassified from 2014 (but he might not make it to school and go JuCo).

I know. Later in my post, I posted that Bass was 2x the player at the same point in their careers. The point I'm making is I've heard straight from Brandon's mouth that he regretted not coming back another year to polish his game. If Bass wasnt ready for the NBA, JOB surely isn't.

The situation is similar. Bass left after his sophomore year. Bass wasnt ready just like JoB. Both could have used an extra year to get better.

Uhhh no

I hope he enjoys Europe after not getting drafted, because THATS what will happen.

Maybe they can get in on Tulane's Josh Davis? He can come for one year via the Carmouche route.

My point is if he makes $80,000 in Europe then he has to cover his living expenses, ect. That doesn't leave much left over to take care of his family.

You spend practically nothing overseas. The teams pay your taxes and your rent. You pay for food and whatever little entertainment you have in the town you are in. He'd pocket 80% of his salary overseas.
