Ethan Frey is 2 for last 19. Is he not inserted in the lineup because of his bat?
Yeah I’m just not willing to compare John Pearson to Ethan Frey.

My point is it’s not the end of the world for a freshman to be 1 for 14.
Of course not. I think he’ll end up being a good bat for us, and I get the thought process of why he would be inserted. This team has no RH hitters to come off the bench. But I’m not going to really disagree with someone who thinks he shouldn’t be getting AB’s in the CWS.

I mean it’s not great by any means, but we have legit starters with worse runs than that.
Certainly. But they provide a tool that we need like defense.

Arrambide has had better swings all year but you can’t burn the backup catcher
Johnson’s over compensation for LH has always been a blind spot for him

He basically only PH and he’s slashing .239/.346/.571
we also don’t really have a lot of RH options on the bench besides our backup catcher

I mean I’m not really going to disagree that much either, I don’t have a major issue with it and it’s certainly not because Jay is idolizing the Pearson’s like the OP alluded to

He’s It !!!!! There is no other RH hitter worthy. It’s a glaring oversight on the roster. It’s like the year Sauce didn’t have one lefty on squad. We will overcome though.

With Dickinson in the shitter you have 2 auto outs in the linup.
Dickinson is hitting like .275 (it’s not great but it’s not an auto out either) in the college World Series and has a hit in each game. He also drove in a big run for us in one of the games.

Maybe you should walk on as a pinch hitter

He should never be used as PH.

For some VERY ODD reason, there is a PEARSON love fest that I just cannot explain or understand. If CJJ is not coddling Josh Peaarson
What? Josh Pearson was named to the all regional team his first three years at LSU. He hit a grand slam in the super regional this year. In our 2023 national championship run, he started every tournament game and was awesome in the field and at the plate. He literally saved the first game of the championship series that would have ended it in the bottom of the 10 th against Florida with a leaping grab. He also had 11 hits including 2 triples and 3 homers (one in the national championship game) in the tournament.
The dude has been the definition of clutch in the biggest games. That's why he is popular.

I don’t have some problem with it either considering our lack of options and certainly wouldn’t have made a thread about it like the OP did. But I’m also not going to sit here and say “obviously you have watched the entire season” and pretend like he has done anything other than have a few good weeks at the beginning of the season against lower competition. That gives off vibes of the same people who thought Dalton Beck was going to become a key player after his AB against Tennessee.

He’s got one hit since March 9th. You are valuing the first 3 weeks of the season over everything else.

I kinda do agree that I think we would be better off just having our lefties face lefties at this point. He hasn't had a productive at bat in a while. I still have hopes for him next year.

14 since then but the number of at bats wasn’t my point. You were calling someone out for not having watched the whole season but it seems like you were only focused on the first 3 weeks.

Well if creolejoe4 says it Im going to have to blindly agree
