Do some of you really pay attention to what Miles has done with special teams. He rarely has walkons playing unless they are like Graff. He puts highly recruited atheletes and some starters out there. We have consistenlty had some of the best special teams since he has been here.

Joe Rob was a proxy of Chris Sailer. He didn't evaluate any of our kickers, nor run any of LSU's ST camps. Sailer ran them all. He took Sailer's recommendations on sight.
Joe Rob got worked over recruiting locally. Trooper Taylor got a foothold in Thibodaux in part because of Robinson's ineptitude and laziness, coupled with Miles' own laziness & lax trusting of a coach that got circles ran around him.
Joe Rob also had to be talked into allowing Peterson to return kicks this year. That brilliant decision wasn't even one he was willing to pull the trigger on without others on the staff & the team leaning on him.
Joe Robinson had the FG unit together and waiting on the sidelines in '09 in Oxford, & literally called them off. We did not have time to put that unit on the field because he made a wayward decision to call them away. He is-though not directly-responsible and accountable for one of the worst moments in recent LSU Football History.
Joe Rob didn't recruit Peterson, & Fisher recruited Holliday. Yet he didn't want the former returning kicks, & the latter would make many coaches look good.
JoeRob ain't no great shakes. He had the ear of Miles, & had burrowed his way into the Miles Inner Circle. Good riddance to a waste on our staff.
Net negative recruiter who bungled major jobs with Reed & by extension, Robinson, & also a smoke-and-mirrors special teams coach.
But, hey...He won an award. That must make him good.

LSU needs a dynamic recruiter as well as a good coach.
I see you don't know much about Bustle. He had four decent seasons out of nine at Ulala which is an accomplishment. While at Va Tech he was a great recruiter, landing a kid you might have heard of, Mike Vick. Bustle also called all of the offensive plays during Vick's time at Va tech, helping them get to the BCSNCG against FSU. He is rumored to be on the USCe list of candidates to fill their ST vacancy.

We have a LSU trained ST/DL coach at the Bills. Hand trained by Arsparger. Beside that, he is a top recruiter. Would we hire one of our own?

This sucks. 
I regarded him very highly.
I think he is a great coach.
We should look for a recruiter, preferably in Texas or Florida.

its a lot harder than you think. Its more than just "run down the field and tackle". Thats why hrs a week at practice is dedicated to special teams, not to mention player meetings. A big reason why we have so many starters and 2 deep in special teams is because your alloted 63 on the travel team(i believe). So instead of using scrubs, you use your two deep for efficiency.
