He needed to be fired and this will be his lasting legacy for me. That is downright inexcusable.

President, AD, and Joe Pa are responsible for enabling Jerry Sandusky to sexually assault children. This is haneous. BOT must replace all leadership positions to begin to rebuild trust between the people and Penn State and integrity of the university.

Sandusky is a pedophile and a deviant who must be removed from society. He is ultimately responsible for his horrible acts.

As a society, we must all diligently protect all children from pedophiles by collective awareness, reporting suspicious behavior, and improving the law with extremely harsh penalties for sexual assault on minors.

Penn State needs to publicly apologize and pay restitution to the children and their families.

I was astonished and disgusted by the indignation of the reporters at the press conference.

perhaps this is how/why he was able to stay @ PSU so long. Everyone had dirt on the other from head coach to AD & school administrators. that is until this shite finally broke.

Well DUH!
Old fart should have accepted the early retirement offered by the school. I guess the arrogant prick thought nothing was gonna happen.
Good riddance!

I read that grand jury report earlier today. That entire system protected this guy Sandusky, despite the fact that many people knew, including Paterno. This isn't about football, except that football institutions can provide tremendous cover. Paterno is still a great coach but everything about that era at Penn State was tainted by this "thing" going on that they all turned their heads and covered up.

They won't go after $aban. They'll need a squeaky clean mike Shula or jimmy carter type. It'll be all about the PR not the PROCESS.

I like the way you're thinking..... Although I do enjoy winning against Saban. It's twice as fun!

On the Paterno issue - just wondering on the timing of the breaking news on the scandal. He just became the most winningest D1 coach of all-time and then....

I have very mixed feelings on this. I agree he should have gone further with authorities in his reporting. However what if somehow (I realize it's a very slim chance) the charges are proven to be false? I keep thinking of my grandfather in this case and what if it was him?

You have got to be kidding!
Go online and download the indictment transcript and you will see that Paterno is guilty as shite!

Well try to think of it this way - if your grandfather was told that someone in his office was raping your friends and he kept quiet!

What if someone else's grandfather was told that his colleague was raping you and your friends/brothers/sisters as a child!

You still want them to go back to watch film and not call the fricking police ASAP.!!!

Evil old bastard is probably more like it.

Does anyone find it odd that all this suddenly hits the fan and old JoePa needs to hit the road 1 freaking win past Eddie Robinson's record?

Also, good old JoePa was in the news a few years ago for running the Pennitentiary State football program...

Since 2002, 46 Penn State football players have faced 163 criminal charges, according to an ESPN analysis of Pennsylvania court records and reports. Twenty-seven players have been convicted of or have pleaded guilty to a combined 45 counts.

I agree. How the hell anyone could just keep their mouths shut after all these horrible molestations is unreal.

After reading the Grand Jury transcript, I am convinced that Paterno lied under oath.

He stated that the graduate assistant didn't tell him any specifics about what he saw. That does not ring true when what he saw was Sandusky having a ten-year old boy up against a wall while sodomizing him. It is difficult to conceive that he did not tell Joe that he saw Sandusky raping that child.

I will not be surprised if Paterno is eventually indicted for perjury.
