would have been a great CB
I know. I always said that also. He just looked better as a DB even in high school. His body type and physical skills were more suited to play CB. He had good ball skills, good back pedal, good hips for breaking on the ball. I'm sure those coaches recognized that but after telling what he wants to hear, that he is going to be the next Reggie Bush, they didn't want to make the transistion. Probably would have had a great pro career.

Didn't the Jets try him at corner at some point?

Got to do with keeping Louisiana's best players in their home state. We always lose a few, but let's keep the crème.

JT Curtis likes to get people out of state. He has strong ties to Alabama. He and Coach Tommy (the weight room coach) really tried to talk Chi into heading to UCLA. Insisting he wouldn't make it to the NFL or develop in LSUs offense. Now as for Kenny Young… Kenny just wanted out of state due to his hard upbringing in Louisiana. He wanted a fresh start. Really inspirational story. Hope ESPN will have a special segment for him one day

I think had he came here and faced stiffer more physical defenses either he wouldn't have cut it or he would have done better in the nfl

I said his life would've been much more pleasant, and considering the amount of business owners/decision makers in this area that are LSU fans (especially relative to USC fans), I think you're pretty fricking dumb for thinking otherwise. Are you naive enough to think that his non-football job prospects are as good now as they would have been had he gone to LSU?
You're way off base but I dont really care. Peolpe have been saying this since he committed to USC, and its totally fricking dumb and baseless.

Not sure if that's ever going to happen with any consistency. He wasn't on a team for the entire 2013 season and tore his achilles in 2014. When he was playing, he wasn't anything special. Didn't he have fumble problems in the NFL and at USC? Seems like he did kind of find a niche on special teams.
He's had a tryout recently, so who knows

well he does a terrible job of it.
This is one of the worst myths ever perpetuated on his board.
HIS OWN frickING NEPHEWS PLAYED AT LSU!!!

Best player i ever played against in high school. Torched us. We were on his highlight reel

So are they really comparing what a guy did in the NFL over college and relating it to LSU?

might have the most players at LSU than any other HS since Nick Saban started at LSU
You must be talking about only the Saban era, because they've only had 3 at LSU since Miles has taken over.
ETA: for comparison
Destrehan
Eugene, Molton, both Jeffersons, and now Logan for 2016.

Im talking about both era's combined.
Chris Jackson, Spadoni and Carnell Stewart all played multiple years under Miles.
In terms of recruiting, there was a little lull for LSU caliber players at Curtis during those years. I think the only 3 we've ever lost that had LSU offers were Ryan Watson who went to USC in early 2000s, McKnight, and Kenny Young.

You are correct Lester.

Wait, so only 3 players in 10+ years?
How many d1 players have come out of Curtis?
I'm not overly impressed by the numbers here. Who in this thread is defending JT so vehemently? You must have graduated from there.......
Maybe you can understand from outsiders' point of view. The perception is slightly well founded on track record.
On the other hand......I agree that McKnight did not fit the mold of 'classic' LSU running backs. His skill set definitely matched the role he could play at USC. I'm sure it was very easy for him to envision getting a NC or the Hiesman while there, versus getting 'banged up' every game grinding in the SEC.
I don't blame his choice. I don't hold a grudge against an 18 year old boy for that.
We all make choices; some just pan out better than others.
I'm always proud of a Louisiana boy.
I wish him luck in his comeback.

not defending him, i dont even like Curtis, but i do know the facts. Perception isnt reality.
JT lets his kids decide where they want to go, and do what's best for them. He doesn't have a favorite school and shouldnt.
He surely doesn't hate LSU. As I said, his nephews were once walkons at LSU. He once employed Tommy Moffett. Their current S&C is a former LSU football player. So i mean if he hates LSU, he surely does a great job of masking it.
Posted on 9/30/15 at 9:37 pm to Lester Earl
Im aware. I played under them at Curtis. Tommy still advised against LSU for Chi, his wife cuts my hair
. And its not a myth that JT tells people to go out of state. Its pretty well known around Curtis. I actually had a discussion about it with Coach Jerry at church one Sunday. He described it as JT wanting the players to venture out and expand their horizons

Name them and we aren't talking walk ons
