Hey, I agree with you. The idiots who annoited him the greatest thing since Tom brady and "he was going to win two heismans" were fools. But, with the season over, we all found out one thing - he's tough and he's a leader. More than we can say for most. Listening Greedy?

JB helped this team tremendously.
Lsu fans appreciate him, but this fan doesn't appreciate YOU calling LSU a clown show.
So f$ck you

Tough guy but not a great QB. His release is way to slow. He can't carry a team on his own. Until we get a QB who can throw it down the field it'll be 9-3 every year. I like the kid but he's average

The offensive line being bad doesn't equate to Burrow being better than he looks. His arm skills are avg. He's tough... But still avg... Basically he's Etling

Ohio Sts oline allowed no sacks in the big games though, if LSU does that they are SEC champs.

OSU's system also utilzed a quick passing game that nullified that. People always said, "why does OSU run screens and slants all the time"? Well, OL was so poor that in a lot of games, running was non-existent or at best, bad. Running so many screens and quick slants was to get the ball out quickly and into the hands of speedy playmakers.

If you're not holding onto the ball and running so many long developing passing plays, you won't get sacked as much as we did. Granted also, we did play some monster DLs vs Auburn, Bama and Miss St. But that ties back to my case of running these type of plays when you couldn't block well for them. Ohio St's Day figured out the problem and adjusted accordingly. Some OSU fans may not have liked it at times, but it proved effective in almost every single game.

OMG. Get over it with the O line excuse. It's so played out. Every QB would be great if they had 5 seconds to throw. I see plenty of teams score points with way worse O lines than LSU. And watch his release. The dude winds up like a baseball pitcher. He holds the ball waaaay to long. Great QBs have the ability to carry a team when everything isn't perfect. I like Burrow and Im glad we had him this year but he's far from a great QB

As an OSU fan, I will give my 2 cents worth.

Burrow is a way better passer than either J T Barrett or Jalen Hurts. Barrett couldn't hit receivers in stride while Burrow can. Against very good defenses (Clemson a couple of years ago) OSU couldn't move the ball because Clemson knew that OSU didn't have a good passing game. OSU would have had a much better chance against Clemson with Burrow playing.

Also, OSU's receivers (finally with a real receiver's coach) were way better than LSU's receivers. They had 4 good receivers who all may end up being drafted by the NFL. Parris Campbell is super fast and quick, but has been handicapped by stone hands his whole career until this year. Campbell is probably the only 1 with a chance to be drafted in the first round, but I could see the other 3 drafted from something like the 3rd to 5th round. The last 3 or 4 games, there were very few dropped balls.

Additionally, generally OSU's line was very good at pass blocking this year although in the middle of the year, the running game was poor. This was caused by not enough blockers and running rpos when everyone knew that Haskins wasn't going to run. Once the scheme was changed, the running game could be characterized as a little above average as compared to poor earlier in the year.

So, all in all, I believe JB is a very good qb, eventually something like a round 3-5 draft choice. However, as good as he is, he is not a Dwayne Haskins level player. Am glad he has found a home at LSU. Was great to watch Haskins this year. Sorry he is almost certainly gone.

That's because there ARE other factors to blame. I'm not going to get pissed, I'm going to disagree. I don't know Joe, I have no reason to be biased. I just know I see glaring issues in every phase of our offense and that makes it difficult for ANY qb to be a success.

For the record, I thought Harris was trash and I didn't blame others, I blamed him. Say w jj Lee etc.

And to respond to his post, stats can vary widely, they're extremely circumstantial to the point that I wish people would stop recording stats because it leads to endless ignorant assumptions.

If you look at Peytons worse season vs his best, is his skill fluctuating wildly? No. The circumstances are just changing. Yes his play will vary but not that damn much. He doesn't double and half his skill season to season.

Impressive stats, for an Emzinger-led team with an offense less than stellar.

It's really not him per say. The offense needs to progress out of the Dark Ages into something that resembles a modern offense.

Best way to look at is - let's say we swap schedules. We play Ohio's schedule this year, they play ours. I honestly don't think Ohio would be in the top 20.
SEC has the most talented schools. If SEC schools didn't play each other as much, you would have 1,2,3 being SEC teams every year.
Burrow will be even better this coming year. Kids got the heart of a champion.

I agree with most of your post and up-voted it. Experts picked us 4-5 in the West with 7 wins and we got 9.5. The A&M debacle was proof that SEC officials just don't give us a break.

When a team, holds on virtually every play and gets called for ZERO penalties in regulation and 3 overall after 7 OT's something's up.

Without Burrow, we're likely at that 7 win as we wouldn't have beaten UGA, or AU.

Note: Coach O just hauled in the #3, #4, or #6 recruiting class based on which rating you look at so the future is brighter due to Coach O's staff and their hard work. Kudo's are in order now.
