Not sure why people would downvote this post. Y’all have been begging for someone young and hungry to be involved on offense. Should kill it, and if he’s good, will probably take over as OC

Not a homer opinion that O consistently makes really good organizational decisions for this program.

O - “we need to advance this offense. Where is the place in this world where I can get the best knowledgeable passing game coordinator in the world. Let me go grab someone from the offensive mastermind Sean Payton”.

O is a bad arse.

Mississippi ruined it for everybody.

Used to be able to test people whether to let them vote.

Apparently he’s a rising star from what I’ve been reading. Sean Payton is mad he’s leaving their staff and he helped Sean with game prep throughout the week. Was highly regarded at Penn State before the Saints. He’s a genius with RPO’s from what I’ve seen. This sounds like more and more of a home run hire. Only 28, should be a good recruiter. If Steve retires after this season and we see some major developments in the passing game and from the WR’s I would give him the keys to the offense as OC. Props to O for this one.

Boom, I think you nailed it. Ed O is looking toward the future and I've heard this several times. If he helps Steve E and builds some confidence with our players this will be the guy of the future for LSU. I heard watch to see if LSU hired young you can bet he's OC in training and if they hire old then it's more of the same.

Steve E was never going to be the long term OC. This guy is perfect for that modern installation we need within the offense. He's worked with some of the best offensive minds in the game. Look at what the Saints were doing. Passing with a little mix of run to keep them honest until that DL was tired then started handing the ball off more and more. Those holes open up much more wide after being hit for big gains in the passing game.

Steve E has to give Burrow more trust and they must start attacking the middle of the field on posts and deep in's over the LBs. Burrow can make those throws. Also fix that RZ offense and this team will be dangerous. That offensive ranking in total offense is scewed quite a bit because LSU had short fields a lot. We didn't have many points because we kicked FGs on those short fields. If LSU scores TDs on 80% or 90% of our short field opportunities then no one will be complaining about our offense. Not in the points per game department anyway. Who cares what our yardage is if we score 42 to 50 points? LSU can easily get to 50 points without having to throw for 500 yards. Throw for 260 and run for 150 while playing defense and good STs will give you 50 points every time.

I like this hire. All the best offensive minds are young guys. Giving a young guy like him a chance is good. We can lock him down if he’s talented

Edit: sticky requested. This is the hire we’ve been waiting for. It’s not a huge boom, but it shows we aren’t gonna just rely on Ensminger next year

Remains to be seen if it’ll work out, but I’m hopeful. I at the very least and very relieved to see O make a move and not just stand pat with Steve E

The same characters downvote any good news, or particular people posting. Lots of kids post here.

He's an RPO guy and probably brought in to integrate the offense.

It would be good for him to be a good recruiter but I totally rather a great coach first. The ultimate package is both.

Wow just talked to my Saints insider. This guy was very highly thought of by Payton and had much influence in game planning. My guy said he was in charge off the Taysom Hill packages ...... not sure if that’s a good thing..

I think he’s a pretty great coach at this stage in his life. He’s a young offensive mind who will bring that modern style that is working everywhere into the offense. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s future OC.
