It was documented in articles that he despised the recruiting aspect, especially having to kiss asses of 15 yr old potential players.

Why is this difficult to understand for some of you?

He doesn’t want to coach in college.

Enough of Joe Brady being on the list.

Brady is not a college coach. He doesn’t want to be a college coach. And it’s almost a certainty he’ll never return to the college game — not even to become a head coach.

quote:

Even if meant Brady had to do the one thing he doesn’t necessarily love. Recruit.

This needs to be sticky'd. People will keep suggesting him, even though there is zero chance he ever comes back to college.

Anyone who brings up Joe Brady has very little football knowledge. It’s widely known he’s not a college guy.

Woodward doesn't always make great coaching hires, he allowed O to hire two assistant coaches with zero experience, knowing O was incapable since he had failed the year before in hiring assistants. Whwt was Woodrad's reasoning fro doing so?

Because when you pay a person $8m to do a job, you allow them to do the job. Otherwise, why are you paying them?

Why would we want Brady anyway? He’s lost 2 games in a row. Doesn’t that take him off the list?

Short of pending murder charges, Woodward nixing an Assistant Coach hire would have meant that no one worth their weight would ever agree to work for him again. Ever.

So no quote from Brady saying he doesn’t want to coach in college?

I love that our fans still seem to think an AD can force experienced coaches to want to coach under Ed Orgeron.

That article doesn’t prove anything. Some blogger wrote a short blurb with no quotes from Joe Brady about how he feels about coaching college football. It was his first season. He could grow into recruiting.

Yeah well there seems to be a good deal of football guys that are not business guys.

If you are Woodward, you are making Saban and Brady tell you no before talking to anyone else. And they likely will promptly tell you just that. But you don’t know the answer until it is provided.

Throughout your career, you might find yourself saying yes to things you never would have considered being ideal. We hired this guy last month that at first straight up told us he was happy with where he was at, he was looking around, ongoing projects, blah blah blah. The offer was made, it was good enough, he works for us now.
