Lee came in to take a knee on the last play. Sound familiar.

Do you not recognize how stupid this comment is. If a player is on an NFL roster, he is by definition NFL material.
Curley Hallman was the head coach at LSU. Do you consider him LSU head coach material? Jimmy Carter was President. Do you consider him presidential material?

I don't think he is starting caliber
He might be backup caliber though

No, I'm not. I'm just saying there are approximately 90 people on the planet who are NFL quarterbacks, but there aren't 90 who are really good enough to play quarterback in the NFL, even at a replacement level.
Don't be stupid. If there are 90 spots available, the top 90 people capable of filling those spots at that time are NFL material. PERIOD. And since a multitude of factors like familiarity with an offensive system, a head coach wanting to go with a younger player over an older player or what a contract player is willing to agree to be a backup on somebody's roster or retire, it's naive to think that the number of QB's that are NFL material doesn't exceed the number of available spots.

You misspelled his name. It's spelled O-B-A-M-A. You're welcome.

Why are some of you so butthurt over the very possibility that JL has a chance of success in the NFL? Are you that vested in some other person or belief that this possibility causes you to wish, however remotely, failure on a former LSU player?
Big ole

Did you not see my post that I hope he makes it and think he might be backup material? I just disagree with the illogic that being on a roster makes you NFL material by definition.

Must be referring to the Packers game. He really looked good

Based on what NFL teams look for these days in a backup QB, if you're a backup QB in the NFL, then you are by definition, NFL material. Whether, or not, you'll ever be a starter is irrelevant, even if the team knows you won't ever start.

Fortunately, the people responsible for paying those players (instead of some other undeserving player who for some reason they chose not to give those player's roster spots to) disagree with YOUR logic.

I think JLee may surprise a lot of people!! I back all LSU players, present and former players. I think JLee will end up being a very good qtrback in the NFL!!!
If you don't back him....

Oh, there are plenty of people that qualify for that description. With some there's no "remotely" to their wishes- they would revel in the failure of certain players that didn't live up to their expectations or somehow brought displeasure to their experience as a fan. I'll take it a step farther...for some, the failure of our team would be deemed a necessary and acceptable trade off it it would bring about the demise of the coach. Frightening people- the lot of them.

That's not what this thread is.
This thread is in regards to something that happened TODAY that I did not see posted on here already.
It was at 4:50 that I was with my son in a restaurant and noticed by chance the Top 10 was showing a WR for the Chiefs catching a pass in the end zone followed a few seconds later by the whole Chargers line helmet slapping #16.
I didn't catch the other team, so this might be for last weeks game, but it was shown TODAY.
And any LSU or former LSU player making SportsCenter Top 10 is usually a thing to be recognized on here.
When are you tards going to stop with the Lee hate and butthurt?
Posted on 8/20/12 at 6:52 pm to Meauxjeaux
Lee did not throw a pass in the Cowboys game on 8/18

Those will stop when he gets cut, at which point it will be "He made it longer than JJ, OMG Miles still sucks".
In other words, it will never end.

Chargers projections
QB -- In: (2) Philip Rivers and Charlie Whitehurst (free agent, Seahawks). Out: Jarrett Lee (undrafted, LSU). Analysis: Lee is starting to show he could develop into a quality NFL QB, but the Chargers will likely try to sneak him on the practice squad to free up a roster spot.
