I don't know how you find this group of people, or who they even are, but I want to see a group of people that actually know the game come in and find a replacement. Guys like Alleva, they don't anything about the game of basketball. Bring in people they do, and let them choose who they think the right guy is.

Know his place. Basketball comes a distant second. Maybe even third.

I would hope this group of people who know basketball would not include the likes of Collis Temple, Clarence Ceasar and Dale Brown.

Would be a fantastic hire as an assistant for whoever the new head coach would be. He's a guy who can really help with Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas recruiting, and he's a worker.
But you can't go from LSUA to LSU as a head basketball coach. There's at LEAST one job between the two.

I would like someone you and energetic, like a young Bruce Peal or Michael White.
Someone who emphasizes defense, plays up tempo.
I watched Keats at uncw and rice at Monmouth and enjoyed there styles of play

Should his replacement be someone who has LSU ties?
Please tell me you're joking.

Wade at VCU is my top guy, but somebody else worth keeping in mind, particularly since he's now in the tournament and could make a run is Steve Forbes at East Tennessee State.
Forbes has a really interesting resume. He was the lead assistant for Billy Gillespie at A&M when they TORE UP the Big 12 and got Gillespie the job at Kentucky. But Forbes didn't go with Gillespie - instead he signed on with Pearl at Tennessee and helped him get that program rolling. Then he went and coached two years of JUCO ball at Northwest Florida, and he was in the national championship game both years. Then he signed on with Gregg Marshall at Wichita State and went to a final four, and then he got the ETSU job where he's won 24 and 27 games in his two years there.
That is some pretty damn good work.

Ties to the program...like connection, prior player, assistant, donor, parent...etc...

Sold... he's coached for some great coaches, energetic, young and has seen the blue print for building successful programs
Posted on 3/7/17 at 9:35 pm to karralum
We don't need ties to the program because that equals Dale brown

Dale Brown and Collis Temple are the reason this program is in the toilet. Jones was terrible at Memphis and at best an average coach in the very average Sun Belt , and should have never sniffed at this job.

Someone that flamed out in the NBA. I wouldn't mind Eric Mussleman.
Unless he is starting to spread his seed again, he shouldn't have any say. It was one thing when his kid was college aged but not now.

I could see Scott Drew coming here for a slight pay increase.

John Brady only if the ex wife comes back to Tigertown.

Slessinger or Stansbury...

Dale Brown and Collis Temple are not the reason that LSU basketball is in the toilet. Dale Brown coached LSU to two final 4's and Collis Temple helped put together another one, genius. They offered input and Johnny Jones was a choice that had a lot of support at the time. All of you sports bar heroes are geniuses after the fact.

You did see the question mark at the end of that sentence right? Meaning it was a question that was asked.
