There are a few things happening pointing towards JJ adjusting the lineup heavily. Rumors are floating around that JJ is still looking for another SS, could be Young from Vandy. JT has been playing 3rd in the cape. FSU said that White was promised a spot on the infield. If you follow those lines, that’s an infield of White at 1st Pineda & Young up the middle and JT at 3rd. This pushes Tre to a corner outfield position, which is where he’ll be in pro ball.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dugas or Jobert leave.

1st White
2nd Pineda/Young
SS Pineda/Young
3rd Thompson
RF Tre/Pearson
CF Crews
LF Tre/Pearson
C Millazo
DH Dugas/Jobert

Why the hell would he move Morgan off 1st base even with a promised position for White?

He'd find a place for White not move Morgan who's an all-american proven there at LSU the past 2 years.

I have no idea who FSU is but I don't like the idea of promising spots on the IF. We saw how that hurt us early in the season this year.
Regardless, despite what people want to believe this teams best lineup is probably with Morgan in the OF. I know this board loves him at 1st but we should start with him in the OF to get more hitters in the lineup. If once again our IF proves that it cannot throw the ball to 1B accurately then we can always move Tre back to 1B

You are correct, I got this information from the recruiting board thread.

Moving Morgan made sense when we had an OF spot up for grabs and Berry couldn’t field a ball to save his life at the beginning of last year. It doesn’t make sense now that we could have a potential log jam in the OF. I think Kling makes it to campus and I think he makes an immediate impact. You might also have Dugas return and I don’t see him doing that just to be the DH. You might end up with Crews, Pearson, Dugas and Kling battling for the 3 spots and DH. I don’t see the upside in keeping JT and potentially Carter young in the lineup, just to leave out one of the outfielders that will probably outperform them offensively.

It probably makes the most sense to live with the errors at 3B next year, then revisit moving him in ‘24 when 1st base opens up.

JJ is building as strong of a lineup as possible. He'll figure out ways to get the best possible lineup onto the field.

It’s pretty much understood by anyone who watches anything beyond college baseball understands that a guy who is only hitting 5-6 HR a year is not going to play a corner position in the big leagues. He’s going to end up in CF.

Not sure why so many fail to understand that White has and will play third
You dont move an all american from his natural position

I’m not saying I agree with the move, just some thing’s going on that makes me think that could be his plan.

JT - Playing 3rd in cape, we’ll see if it continues.
White - Rumors he wanted and infield spot.
Pineda - Not leaving Baylor to ride the pine, he’ll play middle infield.
Taylor - Rumors JJ wants another middle infielder. Could be Taylor.

JT won’t be at LSU if he isn’t going to play, he’s going into his money making year. Maybe JJ is looking to forcing him out? Who knows?

He will be a 1st baseman that sees a lot of time in the OF, but exactly as you say, in CF. He will lead off at the next level if his next-year's numbers are the same or similar. He will be drafted as a 1st baseman, however.

In my honest opinion we'll see white at third Pineda at short JT at 2nd and Tre at 1st

I do not seeing Morgan moving from 1st whatsoever. Don't think Dugas is leaving, and I'd be surprised if Jobert did too but who knows. I think by opening day it'll look like this, Pineda at SS, Thompson at 2nd, White at 3rd, Morgan at 1st. LF Pearson, CF Crews, Dugas RF, Beloso/Jobert DH.

I agree with you. With the transfer portal era though, I don’t see a world where Dugas, Jobert, and JT stay if they aren’t going to play. All of them have money on the line.

That's what I'm thinking. The only way we see Tre in the outfield is if the scouts want to see him there. 1st base AA, otherwise.

Totally agree. IMO I think either Jobert or Dugas may be out of luck if Kling makes it to campus. If Tommy Tanks wants to play in the field and I imagine he does you either put him at 3rd or 1st which may push Thompson out if Jay gets another SS like is being reported. Personally, I would rather pass on Young from Vandy. The MLB scouts are saying Morgan will be in the OF and he will not play first so maybe he agreed to move to the outfield.

Agreed on the Young situation. He lost is spot at Vandy. I’d rather JT over Young.
