This thread really separates those that have some understanding of the game from those that don't.

People who make good points bring up things like other personnel, rushing averages, completion percentage, play calling in specific situations, TD to Int ratios, etc., etc.

People who have no clue say things like "he isn't clutch," "he was clutch," "he doesn't have between the ears," "well, he won a National Championship."

outside of AU, where was all of this clutch play?

I don't feel like recompiling the stats, but I posted them on here at the end of 2007.

Flynn had 13 Passing TDs in the second halves of 2007. His completion percentage was much higher and he threw less interceptions. Keep in mind he didn't play much in the blowouts against lame teams and never stepped foot on the field against Middle Tennessee.

Had he stayed in and padded his stats like JJ, he would have had at least 5 more passing TDs on the season, giving him around 26 on the season.

first of all, 2nd half performance alone doesn't make you clutch. clutch implies the very end of the game

secondly, he must have really sucked a-hole in the first half

Flynn will do more in the pros....Jamacus has all the gifts, but he can't put it together for whatever reason..

Matt Flynn in 2 years has put up these awesome stats

4/8 21 yards 0 TD 0 INT
4 rush yards, 1 fumble

Therefore, Flynn's Rating: 56.25

Russell's Rating: 47.7

And the best QB that LSU has had in 25 years.

Why are we talking about pro careers again?

and that got him benched in favor of brad gradkowski

you may say the coaches are dumb, yet they just beat one of the better teams w/o JR

JR has shown no desire to better himself in a horrible situation and he deserved to be benched this year

Yes he was so great at Auburn wasn't he? We scored 3 points...Hell we scored a total of 13 points against Florida and Auburn that year....So, when he was against the weakest teams around he played good football, but when things got tough he couldn't get it done. Many say this was the best team we had, but from an offensive standpoint, scoring 13 total points against your toughest opponents that year is pathetic...

much of that is due to the lack of a running game

we should have started keiland much earlier in 2006
