Sorry pal but Jimbo would be a GREAT hire....Just not sure we can land him..FSU sure as hell won't let him go that easy.. They can top LSU with any salary they offer......

I'm not going to apologize for being a fan and not worshipping a coach that isn't at my school.
but when did critiquing your coach mean that you didn't support him or your school?

People. Jimbo is not coming here. Repeat, repeat, repeat. You are probably the same people that wanted Cam Cameron to replace Miles when he retired.

top of that he is exactly the type coach who Saban would own. Out of all the good choices out there I just don't see how his name has somehow become the favorite

Each person on this board is not required to start a new thread about jimbo Fisher or any other coach.

This. To all the young ones on here that have a hard on for jimbo, his offenses were often as anemic as les' offenses with more talent. I cursed that dude many times from the east upper while he was here.

All true...against one of the worst conferences.
before we rail on another coach's record against his own conference, keep in mind that Miles did come from a so-called shitty conference himself.

You must admit that isn't what happened in the Les Miles situation at lsu. It didn't matter if he won, he had haters the whole time.

Criticism and second guessing is a part of being a fan. But irrationally hating the coach is not being a good fan. Especially when that coach had the most ever success at the school.

Not to mention the low ethical standards that Jimbo allows......

Rapist - Winston
Punching a woman - Cook

Les would have Perilloux'd those @^*&%&@^ right off the team.....
But Jimbo needs to sacrifice honor and integrity for Ws

Les gave RP11 about 5 chances.

Mathieu got 4 or 5.

but he kicked off the shitty players after 1 incident. What a great man

after their third or fourth offense.
in case you haven't followed lsu's program, you can always count on a handful of arrests every summer.
please don't act like les is some sort of strict disciplinarian.

You're 100% right but this board has a huge Jimbo hardon right now. He'll do the same shite Miles does, lose a few he's supposed to win a year, and in three or four years LSU fans will be looking for another perfect coach.

this x 10. IF, god forbid, he winds up at LSU, all you are going to have on your hands is Les Miles version 2.0, but with less personality and les charisma. Even Chizek got luck with Cam Newton, just because Jimbo got lucky with Jamis Winston doesn't mean shite. Plus for everyone who wants to say Miles won a NC with Sabans players can say Jimbo won with Bowdons players if you want to go there.

I think he's a great option for us though. I just don't understand why we aren't allowed to critique him before/if he comes

You can. I would welcome a legit conversation about Fisher with stats, facts, etc. But the OP literally asked "what has Jimbo done at FSU that would make him a great hire?" Like he's been struggling to go .500 down there. Like really?

And he's not just a great option for us, he's probably the best option that we could realistically get. All he's done is have an undefeated season with a Natl Title, a 26 game winning streak, a modern day record of 29 players drafted over a 3year span, 3 QBs tbat were drafted in the 1st round and 1 winning the Heisman and going #1overall. At FSU, his offensive ranked 28.5 in the nation. During that same time span, ours averaged 67.2 in the nation. Fishers worst offense at FSU was 64th in the nation and that would en above average for us. And the OP asked what he's done...

And I think he's a great fit for us with his coaching philosophy and offensive system. He's obviously knows how to recruit and develop QBs and knows how to have a very good passing game, but still loves to run the football and play sound defense. And that's exactly what we need.

so the only coach that would be acceptable to you is someone from the SEC?

damn, i'm glad they didn't follow that kind of logic with the saban and miles hires.
