I don't think that's going to happen. Go 11-1 and we'll probably make the playoffs regardless if we win the west or not. In that case, of course they keep him. But the baseline for his job should be win the West which means beat Bama or he's gone. 11-1 and not winning the west would be an anomaly that would likely spin LSU straight to the playoffs against Bama. Might actually be better when you think about it.

He has no excuse this season. Miles is fielding an experienced defense and an incredible freshman class coming in. His offensive positions are maturing and he really only lost 2 big offensive contributions. Harris is a junior so it should be his time to show a big jump in maturity at the very least. He has a once a lifetime RB who is 1 year maturer and anyone can win with. LSU should be the best team in the SEC next year when you look at how young and inexperienced the other rosters are. No excuses.

On paper this team right now might be better than 2011's team which is nuts to think about.

Perhaps as a result of the negatigers outrage a bit of the complacency has been knocked off of Miles and he is paying more attention to his job. Hiring qualified assistants instead of cronies may have had an impetus from the criticism of his past hiring practices.

Now we win a bowl game , land a great recruiting class , and hire two great coaches and all of the negatigers seem to have vanished .

If you think Les is responsible for all these coaching staff changes you are nuts! The board took away much of his responsibility in the chat with him after the Texas A&M game. It was part of the deal if he wanted to remain HC. NC or not he's still gone when his contract runs out.

Sir you do not hope you are wrong. You want to be right so you can crow about it. You want to go out bragging that you called it way back when.
You need that sort of validation in your life.

Ground Hog Day!
Its just a repeat of the past. When Jimbo left, according to Les he hired the best OC in the country.
Maybe this time he has it right.

We have the highest paid coaching staff for a reason. The LSU Athletic administration knows we have a buffoon in charge. In order to compensate, we have to have the highest paid staff in the nation. Just the facts

There is nothing going on at the moment... Wait until the season starts. I'm no negatiger, but I am one of the people who thinks that it doesn't matter who Les hires, we won't win a NC with him as Head Coach. Flame away on me, I don't care.

The vehemence of your reply convinces me that I'm right.

On the individual level, yes. For which I am eternally grateful.
But generally I am right. And you know it.
Try to have a nice day.

I'm still here. I stand by my statement that if we don't make it to Atlanta and earn a playoff berth, he's gone and deserves to be. He will never have tha table set better than in 2016.

Lets be realistic.
You do know that Bama brings back more than we do and they won the National Championship. But you think no one has the table set better than us??

LSU can go 11-1 and not win the West. Miles wouldn't go anywhere idiots

It's going to leave a bad taste in everybody's mouth if we have the most returning starting experience we've ever had under Miles, the best staff we've had under Miles, the best talent we've had under Miles, the most depth we've had returning since, hell IDK when, and a heisman contender/SEC/LSU record breaker and still lose two games in the regular season.

He can not lose more than one regular season game. He just can not. He's stacked the deck too high now and made things look way too good to fail this year.

You can't fault him too much going 11-1 and still not winning the West though. An 11-1 LSU team should be a playoff team even without winning the division.

Nah why should people wait until after the Bama game? They can pat themselves on the back and pound on their chest in February when it really counts. LOL

No, sir. That 2011 defense will not be able to be duplicated.

You do know that this statement is false right? Alabama is losing more on offense alone than our offense and defense put together.

You do realize Miles has never finished with less than 10 wins in a season when he's got an experienced QB who's a JR/SR

10 wins won't cut it. That means 3 losses. A 10-2 regular season would be terrible considering all that we bring back and have brought in this year. From youthful and inexperienced to loaded depth wise and returning starters everywhere. From cutting bad weight in the staff to building up a giant. I mean it's unfathomable to only win one extra regular season game after the offseason we just had.

It would show that Miles just isn't the guy anymore. No matter what he does, he just doesn't have what it takes to get us back to where we need to go. It's a double edged sword when you recruit this well (4 consecutive top 6 classes) and assemble a staff this powerful.

I mean think about it, if Miss St can get a 10 win regular season team with a loaded senior roster,Prescott in his 1st full year starting (2nd year with significant playing time), and 2 and 3 star recruit scraps from SEC Country, what should LSU be able to do? If Ole Miss can beat Bama in back to back years and win 10 regular season games with a 1st year starting QB, no running game, depth issues, only a middle of the pack defense, and way less talent, then what should LSU do?
