Most teams are screwed if they lose their top 2 corners. I think woodland is going to have a massive year and end up a day 2 pick in the draft.

I mean it wouldn't be shocking if Jhase Thomas got the nod over Cooley. Cooley was our lowest graded DB last season, comfortably.

Which is saying how good LSU's secondary was last year because he wasn't bad at all.

Don’t think too much into that it’s just building depth in case of an injury. Cooley is very reliable back there.

No .. it was a motivation tactic . I’m sure Cooley going to start he was one of the best safety’s in the sec for Christ stake

No I mean he was comfortably the lowest graded DB last year. He was a below average defender and was carried by the rest of the defense. I don't mean to hate on the kid but I remember many times last year keying in on him and just being so frustrated with his play. I don't know where the notion came from that he was a super important retention for this defense.

2025 Grades:

Spears - 90.6
Delane - 90.5
Haulcy - 86.6
Picket - 79.0
Woodland - 71.7
Gilbert - 60.4
Jhase Thomas - 60.0
Cooley - 57.2

Wow, so LSU is in the same boat as practically every team now depth wise in today’s CFB. Teams don’t have 2 and 3 deep of 5 stars anymore brotha.

Jhase is 1 of only two players to have blocked a punt for us in the last 20 years. That alone should earn him an award.
