I surprised that we have not seen more of that this year. It sure was effective last year. What's your opinion on this Lester Earl?

We have the speed to make them work. We could use bubble screens to the receivers to get the ball into the playmakers hands.

No speed, WRs with little escapability, and not the same talent as last year.

Ontario McCaleb torched us to the point we don’t even run them ourselves

I'm surprised it wasn't used against bama. It was pretty effective last year moving them laterally rather than that les miles shite we seen last week

Derrick Dillon, DJ Chark, and even Sullivan carried the ball often on these jet sweeps last year. Two of these guys are still on the team. We have the speed to still be running them.

Dillon has elite field speed and averaged 5.7 ypc last year on them. However, he has 3 carries for 1 yard this year. Guys have to block who they are supposed to block for sweeps to work really well. Still, putting them in the game plan spreads out the defense.

Dillon would be our best, but three carries and just one yard might have discouraged the coach or indicates a problem with the blocking.

They can be very effective when the QB is under center and has the option to give it on the sweep, handoff to a RB, or playaction.

We ran it a couple times earlier in the year, then stopped.

Now we run screens that lose 3 yards.

Doesn't work when our tackles let their ends get up the field.

I wouldn't be surprised if O explicitly forbids the use of the jet sweep because Canada used it so much.

They broke them out in that awesome game plan vs FLA.

When you only get to 3 plays before punting, it really limits what plays you can run. Maybe we could run a jet sweep instead of screen plays against Rice.

Canada didn't score a single point last year!! But maybe he would have hit the field goal missed by Tracy and put himself in on the red zone interception ...

Rams looked good using it in the red zone Sunday.

Cooks scored a TD on a jet sweep.

I do miss it being used here and there.

I like the way Alabama uses a form of it as well. That little flip that counts as a pass.

but but but that's a gimmick play, doesn't work in the SEC, and tires out our WRs

... according to tRant

(3 TDs, 391 yds, 6.6 yds/carry last year)

Canada fricking sucked dude. I hate watching Ensminger coach our offense but watching some douche run our WR’s from sideline to sideline pre-snap every single play only to run it up the middle with the occasional jet sweep thrown in there was a joke and almost as bad as Ensminger. I was just reading about our passing down S&P+ under Canada being the 2nd worst for LSU since 2010, he flat out wasn’t good. The last offensive coordinator that I genuinely “miss” having at LSU is Jimbo Fisher, they’ve all been some variation of trash since then
