I hope so
I also hope this won't come off looking like special treatment
anyone with half a brain and any experience with probation will know that this is not special treatment....it takes more than 1 strike to end up in prison on a probation violation, especially on a misdemeanor

Yeah, with all this legal trouble he's in, he's probably just gonna play his arse off this season (in whatever amount of games he can) and bolt. If he stays another year he risks another suspension and probably getting written off like Dyer.
I hope he figures out, bc he and Fournette would be one hell of an epic backfield, but then again, Fournette wants it all. So maybe it is for the best

Again, not condoning what he did but he's stuck to the rules of his current and updated probation. It's over and done.
I disagree...Unforunately, I think Jeremy Hill will be heading to jail for breaking the terms of his probation. It will probably be only 30-60 days in the pen, but Miles will have no other choice but to cut him loose. Sometimes perception is reality in the world we live in and Miles will have to see the bigger picture in this....tough on all involved, but Hill brought this upon himself with some very questionable decisions. Life ain't fair.

Yep. He's on probation for a misdemeanor. It takes more than a simple battery charge to revoke probation in cases like this.

"He punched a guy in the face who had been fricking with him all night. It's not like he bashed his face in with a baseball bat or something. This kind of shite happens every day literally and nobody goes to jail for it."
I would essentially agree with this, BUT Hill was on probation. I would not be surprised if Hill serves actual jail time for this, not because of the simple battery itself, but because of the probation violation. Even a 90-day sentence would make it difficult (impossible?) for Hill to enroll as a student for the upcoming semester. I suppose the judge could do other things to address the violation of probation terms besides jail time, and I hope that is considered.

I would love to see Hill play this year, but if he doesn't, the reason is in the mirror. Go to school, play football, stay out of trouble. It just ain't that difficult.

I agree. My sympathy for Hill is based on a largely unsubstantiated feeling that he's had some legal troubles stack up on him that are possibly out of scale to what he did. I could easily be wrong about that - I claim no special or insider knowledge - and as you say, he knew while on probation that he had to be squeaky clean and failed. Ultimately, like most things, it's on him.

He may have his probabtion revoked, but he's not going to the fricking penitentary. Yes there are consequences for bad decisions, and if he's kicked off the team, then so be it. However Hill's two indescretions (that we know of) are: 1) getting a bj from a freshman while he was a senior in HS; 2) getting into a bar fight. Without condoning either, I'd be willing to bet that MANY on this board (and MANY more who aren't) are guilty of doing one or both in their lifetime. This isn't a Mathieu situation were he failed countless drug test. Any punishment Les Miles doles out will be justified, however I'm not going to stand in my glass house and throw stones at the kid for those two "heinous" acts.

Theres a certain segment of our fanbase who seems to be actively rooting for him to go to jail. It makes absolutely no sense. It was one punch outside of a bar.

Did you realize the DA is attempting to revoke his probation? If that happens, he would very likely do jail time.

Did YOU realize that it's standard procedure?

I wish this could be broadcast to everyone. But no, papers have to drum up controversy.

No freaking shite. Damn missed that.
Seems like half this board is jockeying for a place on hillar moores prosecution team. They seem to enjoy eating their own.
I dont care it it the waterboy in this situation, anyone getting their probation revoked under the circumstances at hand is a waste of taxpayer dollars especially in Baton Rouge. However its easy for BRPD and HIllar Moore to be tough on crime and play billy badass when its a high profile LSU football player and has the citys attention.
