It was funny how a ton of people thought Hilliard would be the best of these 2 coming out of high school. Here are a few astute quotes from the Hill vs Hilliard thread a few years ago
quote:

I think Hill is overrated personally. He had some huge holes to run through in HS. I don't think he is as tough as a big back should be either...

On Hilliard:
quote:

I'm not being a homer. Hilliard will be better than TR and Latt.

quote:

Im with you on this one Dodd. There was a discussion on the Rant yesterday about Hilliard vs Lacy and I said Hilliard. Most of the experts said I was way off base.

I'm sure Jeremy thought about staying. It's a huge decision to make no matter who you are. Just because he chose to leave doesn't have to be a negative reflection of the program. GG will ride anything. Dude is an attention whore.

I'm suprised that anyone would even think or dream he was actually staying! Who came up with all this talk or BS that he might would stay and convince others to stay knowing he could or would be a potential 1st round pick.

Jeremy Hill told people he was planning on staying. So, his words were a pretty real indication.

Really? The fact he would have had to sit out or play JUCO. Lol.

Counting the losses on 1/2, the "sources" everyone seems to have absolutely suck or just being flat out lied to by people. Kinda funny

I admit I thought Hilliard was better.

I mean, I honestly didn't know. After the 2for5, I stopped listening to any of this until officially announced.

According to who? I don't believe he told anyone he was staying. I would believe he told some people he was leaning towards staying and the media ran with "Hill Coming Back!"

Good luck to him. Hope the Saints cut bait with deadweight Ingram and take Hill.

It's ridiculous. Miles isn't going to lie to the kid. If he's ready for the NFL, he should go. The dude averaged almost 7 yards a carry this season with over 200 touches. I'm sure Miles told him to just surround himself with good people and work hard.

Twitter is completely ruining news. It was such a "done deal" that he was returning.

Hey we enjoyed your time here now kick arse in the NFL. Hopefully in New Orleans. Not likely to happen though. J Hill will be first RB off the board.

I never thought he was better but definitely expected a lot more production. He pulled a Justin Vincent on us.
