The fact that he is on probation is a big problem. He can't plead it down becuase he would be in violation of his probabtion. Not good for Mr. Hill. Forget football, the kid may be going to jail if the charges stick.

Isnt it the judges discretion? I would be highly disappointed in any judge who makes a 20 year old with a bright future to be an contributing member of society spend his time in jail and not only sentencing him for months but possibly for life for something as minor as throwing a punch at reggies.
If it was a repeat of the same offense or if Hill went far beyond a simple bar fight its one thing. However this seems like minor boys being boys and BRPD making an example of hill. IF the story about the second suspect was the one who knocked him out is true.
