Jennings looked very impressive in his first start, in a most difficult scenario vs. Arkansas. I think either Jennings or Harris could accomplish great things with the proper coaching.

You mean his first appearance where he ran the offense after Mett was hurt. I thought we had a stud in waiting after that superb performance.

I thought he came on in relief that game and made his first start in the bowl game?

My memory could be wrong. I was not sober at the time and certainly wasn't thinking clearly.

You would rather trade a guy that doesn't have the ceiling or physical talent in Jennings for a guy that does at least have the physical tools and ceiling in Harris. Harris has not been great, although he has been good several times. Also, Harris played one less game this year and still should go for 2100 after the bowl game. Jennings couldn't sniff 2000 yards. Either way there is much to be desired at the QB position, and the O/D overall.

I would say Jennings to Dural against Arkansas in 2013 was a "big" throw. Likewise Jennings to Diarse against Wisconsin (and Notre Dame), and Jennings to Dural on "4th and Forever" against Florida.

Jennings was not a very good quarterback most of the time, but let's not act like the kid never made a good play.

We won that game 63-7. How in the world would we have been down by 21 points at any time?

This. You know that you are desperate when you have fond memories of JJ

I don't really agree with this, and would like to see what examples you see here. I think both guys played a big part in beating UF. Jennings stepped up against Wisconsin and played more than adequately in his last 2 starts.

Think we would have got more out of the QB position THIS SEASON if we had stuck with Jennings but now that we have gone with Harris we need to stick with Harris moving forward. Can't just keep swapping QB's every season.

We had Jefferson for 4 years and he never got better. Jennings and Harris will be the same way unless the coaching staff change.

That just tells me we lost 8 of the last 25 games. According to the media we should be proud of that.

Exactly. some of you dumazzes have very, very short memories.

Was Harris not also horrible? If judged on the same merits I can't see how you could say one guy was materially better than the other.

Just think of how this year would have gone, if we'd let Brandon Harris get some experience last year instead of throwing him to the wolves last year. Now we've got two guys with 1yr. exp. each instead of the best one with almost 2.

There were early games last year that Harris should & could have been inserted into to get some live game experience. He rocks the end of the loss to State and looks all world in the NMS game & we give him his first start at Jordan Hare, then yank him.

Sure he looked terrible in that game, but no worse than JJ in the Bama NCG.

Not FAIR!

BTW I agree the New Mexico State game should not be credited to Jennings.

I now see why it took so long for the starter to be named this summer.

There really isn't much of a difference, despite the different skill sets.

Lol

Even if though there wasn't an official announcement until late in the summer, the team knew in May.

... and?

Harris has more physical talent and more eligibility remaining. At some point, you have to pick a guy, and give him a few seasons to grow. Jeez, if Franks or whoever comes here, a lot of the same whining will occur- either people will be clamoring for yet another QB change, or the new guy will be in, suffer some growing pains, and we'd have this exact same thread with Franks and Harris.

Started a thread that got whacked stating the same thing. As bad as Jennings was treated, why is Harris getting a pass on all of this? Jennings at least can run the ball.

Did Jenning have anything like the 3 game stretch Harris had leading into Bama?

Didn't think so. This place never fails to always want the backup QB in. Jennings was fricking terrible. End of story. Harris at his worst is better than AJ. How do yall not remember his play?

You think Harris is getting a pass? Just the other day there was a thread where people were saying Harris sucked and would never improve, and people got downvoted for saying Harris has potential. Circlejerk against Harris is ridiculous right now.
