Heres how it will probably be set up.
Lane kiffin 13.5 million a year for 5 years so 67.5 million dollar contract. 12 million buyout. Win the SEC championship game heres an extra 250,000.Make the Sec championship game 75,000 Make playoffs extra 150,000. For every playoff win heres 150,000. Make it to the natty 1 million. Win the natty 2.5 million.
Still dishing out a ton of money, but he only sees it when and if he wins.

I don't want Kiffin. I want a young hungry coach like Sumrall. I want someone like a Mike Elko. To me Sumrall or Brent Key are what I am hoping. Bith are in their 40's and have won. Prefer Key over Sumrall though

If Wilson was head coaching material he would have been hired by an SEC school by now. Had he been hired by an SEC school and was successful damm right I would take him. Great recruiter and loves LSU.

Why would any head coach want his pay to be based simply on winning titles or even games? Now that $$$ is buying players, your success is based, in large part, on how much $$$ your boosters want to give in any given year.
Sumrall at Tulane would probably come for $8 million per (6 years) and incentives but would the Atty General approve that? Landry saying the Atty General would need to review any contract is an absolute death sentence to LSU getting any successful coach (see their agent!)

That is the real deal, I'm not a LSU fan but I agree with the governor all these buyouts are insane. Bama's is like 66 million dollars, insane. Saban didn't even have buyout, that is balls right there. These coaches are paid enough money per year they dont need this high dollar buyouts at all. Auburn has Paid coaches untold amounts of money in buyouts. Franklin and Kelley's buyouts are out of touch and so was Fishers at A/M.

If LSU follows this line of thinking it will hire a lower tier coach…and that coach will either fail…will leave immediately following success…or will demand a redo of his contract after success.
