Perhaps you will remember then that LSU had to make Saban one of the highest paid college coaches of all time to get him here??

And we had to make him the 3rd highest paid coach in the country with no buyout on his end to get him.

Ridiculous awful take.
Sad I have only one downvote to give.

You know nothing of which you speak.

All we need to do is lock down the state with NIL for these high schoolers and there parents, pay big money to them No excuses and only go to the portal for positions where the state comes up short. Do that and Frank Wilson could win a natty

Yes, it was a shock. Word got out that the AD Joe Dean was against it but Emory (don't remember his position) basically overruled him and insisted on the hire. I definitely remember thinking "a million dollars per year, they're crazy!"
The rest is history.
Would be nice if that were repeated.
GEAUX TIGERS!

I like this take. BCS Championships incoming!

Incentive based needs to be the way to go. The first one that does it will take a bit of a beating up front, but in the long-run, this massive buy outs only help the agents and the coach and hurts the school.

No school is patient enough for that.

One of the dumbest takes of the year. Only a desperate person would take this deal. Reminds me of a relative of mine who kept saying everything was too expensive and then referred to pricing from 10 years ago. You don't understand the market and should be VERY suspicious of anyone that agrees to these terms.

Every time I wonder why Louisiana is the butthole of America, I just wander to the Rant and look at posts like yours. It’s a reminder that the bulk of our population is dumb as hell.

You are correct but the deranged liberals will never agree.

Absolutely nothing in your post supports your thread title premise. If anything it does the complete opposite.

What high level coach doesn’t have a stupid buyout?
It’s the way things are. Governor Bobby Boucher Landry isn’t changing the market.
