I had him behind Penix… but based off today this is wrong. JD5 is the best player in college football. I don’t think it is questionable at this point. We dominate every game. Can you imagine LSU with 3-10 points thru 2 1/2 quarters against any opponent?

If we go put up 40 against Bama I think it’s a lock

He’s probably going to still be the favorite since it’s his first bad game.

JD had one bad half and the offense put up 24 on the road against the #4 team in the country. JD has an INT where his guy fell down.

Penix has been bad today, has 3 TOS, and Washington has 3 points at home to an objectively bad ASH team.

Daniels will be the favorite.

JD5 is the best player in the country. The best part is he still has the stage in front of him to prove it

I think the Heisman odds are very fluid this year.

After tonight I think JD and Penix are most likely equal odds with JD having Bama and potentially Georgia ahead of him. Could be a very special season

Not if they lose though against a 1-5 team.

Arizona State is 1-5. Daniels is the front runner after tonight. Beating Bama in a few will help his chances, but we could lose a high scoring game and I think he’s still in good shape. JJ McCarthy will start getting a lot of hype going forward by the usual northeast sports media. He may be the bigger threat just because of record, and they only play two teams with a heartbeat.

I certainly hope JD gets it but all y'all in here acting like it's only him vs Penix.

He’s now 3rd on FanDuel at +550 behind Penix at +300 and McCarthy at +190.

To be fair, they're at the top of the list.

Caleb Williams isn't winning it. The talking heads keep talking about him but no one has won the Heisman twice since Archie Griffin in 1974-75.

Sure there are others to be considered but those two guys are at the top of the list.

Let's just get the wins. The rest will fall in place.

Just checked the stats

JD is #1 in the following

Passer Rating
Yards per attempt
Rushing Yards

#3 in passing yards only because of fewer attempts

He should be the front runner at this point. If he lights up Alabama and we win he will be the clear front runner

Once again, the Heisman will be won or lost on Nov. 4th in Tuscaloosa.

Agreed

If he plays well in a loss I still think he gets an invite

If he plays well and we in he is definitely in the driver's seat. If we run the table I don't see any scenario where he doesn't win the Heisman

You bet Bama, it’s his, JD is a LF 2.0. His Heisman odds come down to that one game

100% perfectly said

What sucks is that it’s not just an individual performance. It comes down to a percentage of that being with how well the team is doing so we have to actually pull against some teams and hope that they don’t win to increase JD’s chances of winning. What a shame

People on this board don’t seem to understand that many people still don’t have JD in their top 5. He’s been the best player in college football, but y’all acting like right now it’s him and Penix is silly.

I just read someone on ESPN that has rb for Okie St in top 5 but not Daniels. Daniels has to light up Bama to get in the mainstream conversation. If they lose, he’s probably not even getting invited.

Heisman is kind of a joke at this point. They don’t actually care who the best player in college football is. Jordan Travis, Dillon Gabriel, rb for Okie State, are not in the discussion for best players in college football, but apparently they might be ahead of JD for Heisman.
