I think “Those Boosters” are smart enough to know that Jay Johnson inherited this situation from Maineri and aren’t nearly as hot-headed as you think they are. “Those Boosters” know Jay Johnson hasn’t had a single recruiting class and are willing to give him time to rebuild the team.
Good grief.
Good grief.

But, boosters, especially of the LSU persuasion, won’t give him long to get the ship righted.
I know someone that buys a suite and contributes money and can tell you he is much happier with Johnson at the wheel than he was with CPM. I have season tickets and a PP and I think Johnson did a pretty good job with tge pitching CPM left him.
We are going to be just fine.

You seem to be a respected poster here so note that I too am only being neutral. Your posts do come off like you’re implying something or know something yet you won’t be specific.
As far as any argument that the program was in good shape. Please give details to support this claim.
We were a very average sec team the last 3 years under Paul. The program had gotten stale, complacency set in to say the least. Paul did very little coaching, recruiting was marred by poor evals, lack of head coach involvement, and the process for hiring assistants had degenerated into hiring former players with no experience.
These are infrastructure issues that I would argue absolute do not define a program in good shape.
Please give examples or info to support your claim that the program “was in good shape overall”

I am a season ticket holder, have some close friends that are on the coaches committee and are big boosters. I can say that I am surprised the team did as well as they did this year because of pitching. I am disappointed in the numbers of errors especially in the middle infield.
In talking to the boosters and coaches committee members that I know, the only thing they don’t like about him AT FIRST was he was not as open and as personable as Maineri. They said he has gotten better, but they all agreed he is way more intense and hands on in every faze of the game compared to Maineri. Which they really like. They also said they think Jay just is not used to fans and boosters being as involved as the LSU faithful is. But they believe he will adjust.
In talking with former players they loved Maineri but said it was past time for him to retire. And these are some players that had some really good careers for the tigers they loved their coach but between his health and loosing his dad, it sucked the energy out of him. They have a lot of positive things to say about Jay and love his energy and involvements in the details. They really really like his energy and his hatred to loose.
So I would say the program is better than a year ago. But truly only time will tell.

Hasn't even coached one full season yet. This one isn't over.
Some of you people are downright certifiable.

Don’t hole your breath on that one.

No I won’t. His claim that he’s being “neutral” is laughable. He obviously has his opinion but won’t stand behind it for some reason. Hard to respect people like that or give their opinions much value.

You may want to ask some players about the throwing under the bus thing. And there are always off the field issues, then and now. You just may not know about them. How they are dealt with is part of the program
We’re you a player, coach or equipment manager? I know a former trainer and equipment manager under Paul, I’ll bask both of them to see what they say. They hear it all…
So at the very worst Johnson has maintained status quo without throwing players I’m under the bus.
I’m sure some feelings are hurt like Gio because he can’t get back in the line -up but it isn’t because he is fricked Paul’s daughter.
Then there is the whole hurt arms issue and conditioning/recovery that you blazed over and didn’t say shite.
