He's 4th IN THE COUNTRY, not the SEC, in the got damn COUNTRY, in passing per game. With the million great QBs in the Pac, he is right up there with Cam Ward, Michael Penix, and Caleb Williams.

The anti-Daniels people either stupid, racist, or incapable of changing their opinion.

Some people on here already made up their mind about Daniels, & they refuse to budge on the topic. It doesn't matter how well he plays.

Barring injury...Daniels is VERY likely going to be 1st Team All-SEC & a decent percentage of this board will always want to bench him. Very odd.

He's also upped his YPA and still hitting over 70% accuracy.

I agree, he's doing great. I've made threads about how much more decisive he's been as well. I hope he keeps it going.

I'd rather see us win games that we should, convincingly, instead of hanging on for dear life hoping the clock will run out, and compete for national championships than see padded stats and awards, we win the games we're supposed to and seriously compete for NCs the awards will take care of themselves

I can only speak for myself, but I was bitching about him in the first half because he was making the same glaring mistakes.

Then you look at the way he finished, and you see his numbers for the year, and contrast that with the way 3rd down defense is pretending to play, and it's clear he's playing at an elite level. He has made a massive leap from his play last year.

I just think some of you see racism in everything because you've been conditioned to do so.

Safety play hadn't been great, aside from Sam coming on the last couple of weeks. Anybody calling for Langlois yet?

Lacy has been a disappointment? Anybody call for Ibieta to take his spot on the depth chart?

With that being said, it’s worst on a black kid, as wether you like it or not, every fan base in the south has a decent amount of red neck to deal with.

So we're okay with every other starter being black, but the QB's gotta be white?

This is demonstrable bullshite. People loved Rohan over Josh Booty. People loved Jamarcus.

Daniels is hot and cold. Ark was a perfect example. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the first half. Luckily he flipped a switch and was on fire in the second half. Sometimes he can't flip the switch, like a&m last year. Sometimes he comes in with the switch already on, like MSU. People overreact when he's off and overreact when he's on.

Then there's people like you looking for racism everywhere.

The easiest way to shut down valid criticism is to cry about racism.

Dude: The QB is the face of LSU period. I disagree. The State of Louisiana. Regardless who's the Governor. He's the most powerful person between the Sabine & Pearl rivers. If it's given to a black man Post Burrow he better be Christ to be secured. Im sorry consistently GREAT every play,series/drive, quarter,Half & even post game interviews.i forgot his commercials. He's NOT consistent in his roles.

I surely miss the Pre Dinardo days. We were happy to be competitive for at least a half

There is a loud minority of this fanbase that was never convinced he was the guy, and they don't want to admit they might've been wrong. It's that simple.

This isn't unique to LSU either. The backup QB is often the most popular player on a lot of teams. Spencer Rattler was the Heisman favorite two seasons ago, and OU fans were booing him off the field before September was over.

shite, they'll induct anyone into the hall. shite, at the pro level they should put it on the numbers every time.

I’m callin bullshite on all this now. Do you REALLY believe that JD can throw as well as Penix?

And Caleb Williams — c’mon man. Think about what you’re saying.

JD is not on that level. There’s at LEAST half a dozen QBs in CFB that throw the ball better than JD.

JDs only in the conversation because he can run the ball better than SOME of them.

You are clueless. This season every single stat JD is right there with CW and against better teams than fUSC has played. It's disingenuous to let your dislike of a QB shite on actual facts. Maybe JD isn't BETTER in some stats, but he's right there. The gap is a lot less than you are insinuating. Get real.

Dude — frick your stats. Look at JD, Michael Penix, Caleb Williams and tell me you reeeeeally think JD is “right there” as a QB.

Don’t take shots at me, don’t gimme the “some stats” crap. Be a man, tell me that you really think JD is at that level—if you do.

What’s the better alternative since according to you JD isn’t on that level?
Why not support the guy?

People like him want to blowoff stats because they go against their bullshite narrative.

Heisman trophys are not won on heart alone. If that was the case Daniel Ruettiger would have won it. People win the Heisman based off the stats (accomplishments on the field) they compile.

And yes, JD is right there with CW and against better opponents. Food for thought...

CW Heisman year... (14 games)
Comp. % = 66.6
Yds= 4,537
ave= 9.1
TD= 42
Int= 5
Rtg.= 168.5

JD this year of extrapolated over 14 games...
Comp %= 72.6
Yds= 4,536
ave= 10.5
TD= 42
Int= 7
Rtg.= 189.1

But maybe we should just throw away stats and select CW for heisman again because, you know, stats mean nothing. Lets select a player for their jersey color.
