He is only second behind Caleb Williams in Heisman odds at +900 at BetOnline.

I usually read much into this but I think the hype is real for him and the team this season.

May the second year Coaching juju continue for CBK and the crew!

Alabama Jayden… heisman winner

Arkansas, aTm Jayden… not so much

Hope he takes that next step mentally, he’s got all the tools to be a lethal dual threat qb

I’m surprised the kid from North Carolina, Drake Maye, isn’t second.

He didn't even play that bad considering he was hobbling around most of the game

Probably bc he plays for UNC in the ACC. surprised he didn’t get lured away with an NIL deal, but glad he didn’t.

The fumble was a back breaker though

Hate to say it, but I don't think he plays enough games to be a contender. His style and build will keep him out of at least two game due to injuries.

I should have bet win it was higher. I'll be betting on this. Last year had LSU to win more than 6 1/2 in FB and Baseball to win the Natty.

I would say it was a backbreaker exactly. A&M went up by a TD there. But it did change the feel of the game. The momentum was clearly in the home teams favor at that point, never what you want anytime in the second half.

Two things about that play looked problematic to me.

The first is predicated on it being a read vs a called QB run. I don't know which it was but it looked to me like it should have been handed to the RB there. Really, I think it should have been a straight power run anyway but I get letting a good running QB make that read, I just think it looked like the wrong read.

The second was how he tucked that ball. It looked like when he was running I could see the point of the ball sticking out between his elbow and his body. He needs to keep his elbow tighter to his body to avoid the punch out. I am not saying this is a or was a problem generally, just something I saw on that play.

I'm sure he knows all that and he and the coaches have worked on anything they decided is an issue.

I give him a pass for Arkansas given reports that he was battling flu.

He didn’t play well against aTm but that was a total team loss. Has the defense played better we still would have won.

Regarding making the mental leap, he isn’t far off. He just needs to be more willing to be aggressive when our WRs are 1v1. He tends to make the conservative decision, not really the bad one. And that’s what we needed last year.

This year if he’s more willing to take shots when available, he will have a Heisman level year.

I keep hearing that Jayden is being hyped because of his tremendous improvement toward the end of the year.
Each time I watch the Arkansas, A&M, Georgia, and Purdue game, I scratch my head and wonder, what am I missing.
Purdue was about as weak as we were the previous year vs Kansas St.
The word out of Spring and the Manning Camp was very promising. However, there was no defense to pressure him.
I'll take runner up for Heisman or just the trip to NY would be sufficient to satisfy me. It would indicate a great year.

9-1 are awful odds to win the Heisman. Have you ever made a bet before?

So you just proved that you an angenda and a bias against JD.

He played really, really well against Georgia. He was hobbled by a leg injury and couldn’t run yet completed 2/3 of his passes for over 200 yards in the first half before he had to be taken out due to the injury.

The 1 isn’t wasn’t even his fault, hit the WR in the hands and took a freak bounce to the DB. He was not why we lost that game.

He played very well against Purdue. Not sure what you saw that suggests otherwise.

I don't remember. What was the LSU vs Georgia score when Daniels was injured?

Purdue was like a JC team when we played them. Missing players and Coaches if I remember correctly.

It really is amazing how perceptions of this guy are all over the place. You have lots of people--Vegas included--who think he is a very plausible Heisman winner. You have others--including some people on this board--who think he shouldn't even be our starter. Count me somewhere in between. I think he should definitely be our starter, will be a well-above-average SEC quarterback, but will not consistently have the downfield accuracy with the football to win a Heisman. I would love to have him surprise me on the upside!
