Daniels ran for 114 yards and passed for 209 more. Combined, his 323 yards from scrimmage represented 93% of LSU’s total offense. In all, Daniels ran or passed on 51 of LSU’s 66 plays.

Daniels refused to point fingers at anyone other than himself for the spotty offensive performance.

“We didn’t come out with any urgency or rhythm, and that’s on me,” Daniels said.

quote:

“Nobody likes losing,” Daniels added. “You come to LSU, you don’t want to lose. Losing’s not acceptable here.”

This is what happens when you tuck and run 1 second into ever play

It's not exactly his fault that he only had one second before the defense was in his face.

I don’t view this as a good thing, especially considering we didn’t design run him very much

He was the best player on the field for LSU Saturday night.

The only other player with an argument is Jay Ward.

Is your premise that JD should have audibled into more RB carries to share the wealth?

One read Daniels is the premise. If the first isn’t open. Tuck and run baby.

He threw the ball 34 times for a 73.5% completion percentage and that's with the drops. We have people acting like all he did was run and that he was inaccurate.

Did you guys not see the pass protection and play calling for first 3 quarters? He didn’t have much of a choice, we only punted twice as well

That’s great. Man he most of thrown for a lot of yards then……

He had 47 yards passing n the first half when it mattered. The rest came from the last 2 drives while FSU was up at least 14. Stop acting like he slung it all game.

We don't want or need him to do this. This isn't high school football. Lsu has amazing athletes on the roster that are much better than Daniels running with the football.

Point some hate towards Denbrock. It was obvious when Denbrock finally realized his plays were taking too long to develop.

It would be the running backs, who several times got stopped in the backfield due to lack of blocking.

Look for a season of 8 players stacking the box with blitzing packages every play

We will see plenty of tuck and run plays all season long

It looked like a JV game out there for three quarters with the ball hog “qb” running the ball.

It felt that way because the OC only called 8 runs all game. Even against Bama last year we called 32.

They put the ball in JD’s hands on 50 out of 58 plays.

Vs Bama, they put the ball in Johnson’s hands on 40/73 plays.

JD doesn’t fully control that. That’s having no confidence in your rushing attack and forcing the QB to make it work.

Ha! I don’t care what color you are! 47 yards in the first half isn’t enough to win games in the SEC. Can you imagine how many yards Mike Leach gonna put on us?

Hmm…unless you think he should have audibled into more runs for the RBs, this is the percentage (if not higher) that he’d have if he scrambled around for 6 sec, went through every last read, then always threw it.

Don't expect the bottom half of this board to grasp this.
